Works Great! November 20, 2009 Darrick Bremner (Bloomington, IL United States) This thing works great. I had bought a booster from Radio Shack and it had actually degraded my service. I think it added too much noise to the line.I had seen this one on Amazon and it got so many good reviews, I figured I'd try it. recieved it today. hooked it up in 5 minutes. Now I am recieving more channels on all of my tvs, not just the upsatirs TV I was having issue with. If the cable run in your house is too long or you have too many splitters like I do, this will boost th signal to acceptable levels.
Does the job well. November 19, 2009 Stanltaaf (Free Lunch, Luna UAE) Motorola is making a smart move. A respected name in a business niche with no name with credibility like them. Installation was a breeze. It is a heavy feeling unit with positive contact on the screw on connectors and a power lite to confirm operation. Compared to everything else I've seen, it's a winner.
For antennas in attic installations, skip the pre amp 'noise' and just by this. All you have to do is buy a generic antenna cable to send the power to this (this does have a grounding option) and save your money for the signal cable.
Pre-Amps are good for installations where a weatherproof installation close to the mast is not safe or practicable with a booster like this. Same function, just no RF trap and for people who are most concerned about HDTV, FM signals are a non-starter.
Hope this helps, I know I was confused but now I've seen the light!
Don\t waste your money November 13, 2009 B---- 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Save your money, this really did nothing for neither my internet nor TV quality or speed.
I should have returned it but kept hoping it was something I was doing wrong, then a Comcast Supervisor came to my home and told me I shouldn't use it.
The real problem is Comcast generally and the quality of their signal which can't be improved upon.
Good product! November 11, 2009 Tennessee (Yakima,Wa,USA) This signal booster made getting all of the digital stations in our area dependable and clear. We had two stations that did not come in before purchase. The motorola signal booster is well worth the money.
Great item to boost signal. October 29, 2009 D. Kenny (Chicago, Il) I installed this booster in less than 10 minutes and it worked like a charm!
It might have been different if I didn't have an electrical outlet available next to my splitter box but would still be fairly easy. I have two DVR's in my house...one right on the next floor above the booster (also split to my internet modem and wireless router) and the other to a TV on the second floor. The reason for buying the booster was that when I recently added the second DVR, the signal was not strong enough for the TV on the second floor. Since adding the booster, it has worked perfectly. Highly recommend this product!
