5 out of 5 stars Layman's toy and much more   September 16, 2009
Charles Weaver (Ryderwood WA)
I puchased this Ford code reader because my Pace Arrow motorhome (Ford 460 engine) failed to start after being in storage over the winter. Prior to purchase I checked the ususal things, spark, fuel and air. Not knowing anything about Fords EEC IV (electronic engine control)including where it was located in the vehical, I decided to do a little research on subject and the first thing I learned was without a code reader all the reseach in the world will not diagnost the problem.

Within minitues of Equius 3145 Ford Digital arrival, I had it plugged in and the system tested and the problem diagnost. I would higly recomended this code reader for all laymen and mechanics alike. It come complete with clear instructions and with batteries works right out of the box even for us layman

4 out of 5 stars Good product   June 26, 2009

I find it hard to pull the codes off my truck with the whole blinking light deal. This reader is the answer to my prayers. My only problem no is I have to fix my ERG valve position indicator before I can figure out what else is wrong with the truck. There are three checks the reader goes thru, and you must do them in order, and resolve all of the problems before you go to the next check. But the product works great, and the manual makes it a breeze to work with. I highly recommend this to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product   June 22, 2009

This poduct works as advertised. A good read of the directions is required due mostly to the system being tested (the old OBDI system wasn't as "user friendly"). This reader overcomes the worse part of reading codes.

5 out of 5 stars worked great   May 21, 2009

My 92' Ford T-bird was in a no-start situation and fuel delivery suspected. This code reader hooked up easily and with a key-on test gave a code that pointed to fuel pump circuit fault. Saved me trouble shooting time and effort. Well worth the money and liked being able to read the stored codes when the reader was disconnected from the vehicle.

5 out of 5 stars Ford (Pre '96) Code Reader   February 24, 2009

Appears to be a quality piece of gear and works well with my '86 XR4Ti. Comes with very good instructions and documentation. Anyone who knows how to check their oil should be able to figure out the hookup/use pretty quickly.
