Great toy November 17, 2009 Marino (Iceland) The Garmin 775T GPS is very good. Used it while I was driving around in USA. Worked as expected. Have not used it in my country since the producer must have forgotten that my country is in Europe, and European map is in it but not for my country. Most USA producers don't know that Iceland is not in Europe. So they didn't have my country included in then maps of Europe. But I can buy Icelandic map for abut 150 US$.
it do all it suppose to do November 9, 2009 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
nuvi 775T is my second experience in GPS, and all of the up-grades like 3D, name of streets, Bluetooth, screen's night/day are helpfull. 775T have a good signal level, link whit internet for dowload upgrades and tools. I don't tested the MSN and FM signal yet.
First 30 days use review November 2, 2009 S Allen 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
THe product overall design was very good. Purchased for use in US and EU.
Mapping was near perfect for Italy.
Five calls for help produced varying results with incorrect information.
One services person advised that software would not work on a MAC (which later was found to be incorrect). Others gave bad/incomplete install info.
This is a complicated software package that is not well documented.
Bottom line is that the average user may not be able to take advantage of all the attributes of this product.
And....Garmin has not adequately documented the issues by product.
Made A 3-1/2 Week Driving Tour Of Spain A Pleasure October 21, 2009 S. Mazzone (Rocky Mountain High, Colorado) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My wife and I just returned from a 3-1/2 week driving vacation in Spain. We put over 2100 km on the car we rented, visiting Alcala de Henares, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Tarragona, Valencia, Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Toledo and Madrid - as well as Gibraltar. The trip was the reason we bought this GPS - and are we ever grateful that we did! It would have been a nightmare trying to navigate the highways and streets without the GPS. But the 775T made it easy. And, when I occasionaly misinterpreted its instructions and made a wrong turn - or if a street was closed due to construction - no problem: it just recalculated and re-routed me. Clear, bright, adequately-sized screen; adequately loud spoken directions (when volume set at 100%). Startup map loading and satellite acquisition were fast. Did not use any of its advanced features such as Bluetooth coupling with a cell phone or media player. Only negatives are: (1) Was not able to find several Points Of Interest (no big deal), (2) Lost satellite several times while on very narrow streets with tall buildings in Madrid (but regained it quickly once in a more open area - I suspect any GPS would have experienced this). This being the first and only automaotive GPS I've owned, I can't compare it with other units. I can only say it took all the stress out of driving in Spain and was well worth the money paid for it.
Gps Garmin 775 T October 18, 2009 Claudio Bellotto Garmin 775 T surely represents the top notch in performance for the type of use of this equipment. FM reception is excellent, FM modulator is strong and stable, plus the 3D view is very helpful.
I would certainly recommend this product to anybody traveling extensively
between USA and Europe.
Rugged constuction and ease of use are a plus, when compared with the competition.
