It really sounded like a good machine, but--- The one I purchased didn't work. The bread dough rose, but at some point near the end the heat turned off. I didn't want to try another one so I returned it. You'll be lucky if you get one that does work.

I've had this bread machine for about two weeks and tried four different recipes from the booklet supplied with the machine. They are all delicious. I followed the recipes as they were in the recipe booklet and I didn't have any problems. Since I had baked bread by hand before, I knew what the consistency of the dough should be, so I had to add a tiny bit of water or flour to the bread machine as it was kneading. The only time the machine is noisy is when it's kneading, and I didn't find that to be a problem.
The Traditional White Bread is great for sandwiches, but rather filling. For a really delicious sweet bread, try the Springtime Favorite Bread on page 46. The recipe calls for 1-1/2 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp almond extracts, but instead I substituted 1 tsp vanilla and 1-1/2 tsp anise extracts for a really pleasant-tasting sweet bread. The Springtime bread rises very high and is very light in texture. I will try to post a picture of it.
I didn't find the crust to be too hard. I do use bread flour, which has more gluten, and fast-rising yeast.
As a convenience, I put all the breadmaking supplies (small, lidded containers of salt, sugar, yeast, dry milk, measuring cups and spoons) in a basket on a shelf beneath the counter where the bread machine sits. It makes it much easier to have everything in one place when I am ready to bake bread. I just remove the whole basket and start measuring.

I received this breadmaker last month. Timely delivery, well packaged. Very easy to use. Excellent directions. I actually bought it to make pizza dough, but find the bread is very good too.

I have been successful with the recipes from the rather meager cookbook that comes with it. So far, all other recipes I've made have flopped totally. I don't know if it's their recipes or if the machine has a different heat or something that varies quite a bit from other machines used on the other recipes. It is fairly easy to clean, not too noisy or shaky. The interior pan and paddle are okay, the pan is very probably not going to last an extended length of time. I wish they would explain what the different settings are based on, that might be helpful with some different recipes. Adequate for the price.
Next time, I would probably consider one with the convection cooking option.
