1 out of 5 stars Pretty while it lasted - buyer beware   November 24, 2009
Anne Michelle (Brooklyn, NY)
Deserves less than one star. Don't bother with this cute little toaster. We got ours just three years ago and the lever catch has already given up the ghost. A quick glance through other people's reviews looks like this is a common enough problem. It still toasts but you've got to hold down the lever, and who wants to do that? Too bad.

4 out of 5 stars Even browning, toast to toast   November 9, 2009

Never burned, bread or toast. I am very happy with this toaster. I just wish it came in more colors.

3 out of 5 stars Decent, not fantastic   November 5, 2009
Rebekah Short (IN USA)
We chose this toaster for it's smaller footprint - there are so many enormous ugly toasters on the market, and we wanted a compact version. It basically toasts ok, (we don't toast anything fancy) can burn easily, and the supposed LED lights are a fake. We actually returned the first one because we couldn't believe that the light was working; next one, same thing. What looks like it should light up next to the selection button, doesn't. It's just a number dial with a back light. Oh well, it was inexpensive...now we'll see how long it lasts. I had expected better from Cuisinart.

1 out of 5 stars what a piece of S---   November 4, 2009

Can I give less than one star, please? Buying a toaster is always a pig in a poke-- you can't exactly test them in the store, can you. I have owned many that didn't work out, and this one is no exception. For a while it worked more or less adequately; but has No crumb tray; when I turned it over to shake out the debris, the lever catch stopped working. It heats up if you hold down the lever manually, but who wants to do that? Investigating the innards to try to fix it, I can now see what cheap trash it really is. I'm glad my food processor is kitchenaid and not cuisinart. This toaster is about 1 yr old. i despair thinking about a replacement, and doubt I can be assured of a good one. I'd be willing to pay quite a lot, I like toast, but I fear I'd only be disappointed, and no test drive is possible. so I must remain toastless. Maybe I'll haul a loaf of bread down to sur la table or macys and demand a demo. Of course that will be no test of durability. But I will avoid cuisinart products in future, and so should you.
