| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The American pianist Frank Glazer, now 91 years old, is heard in this highly entertaining collection of short piano compositions- repertoire once standard fare of the day for piano students. These pieces, though fashionable during the latter half of the nineteenth century and early years of the twentieth, are not often performed in concert anymore, despite their great appeal. Glazer writes that Dohnányis 1916 transcription of Delibes Waltz was advertised as being performed everywhere with the greatest success by Rachmaninoff, Igna Friedmann, Backhaus, Lhevinne, Godowsky, Eisenberger, Youra Güller, etc. And as a student in Junior High School, I performed it in our assembly programs....when, in 1932, I arrived in Berlin to study with Artur Schnabel, I soon became aware that he would not be listening to this genre of repertoire, so it lay dormant, unused until many years later... Frank Glazers warmly embracing performances bring back an era long past, and the accompanying booklet includes period photographs, and Ruth Glazers reminiscences of her husbands long career.

| Customer Reviews: A rare treat to be savored and enjoyed October 18, 2006 Robert P. Patterson (Lovell, ME United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Frank Glazer presents classics many of us played while taking piano lessons. He brings a long lifetime (he's in his nineties!)of playing pieces so familiar, and doing so with exquisite technique and timing. Bridge Records wisely saw the potential in making this available on a wonderfully produced CD. The accompanying text details some of Glazer's amazing career, much of this coming from the ultimate source, Ruth Glazer!
When I listened to track 10 (Menuet in G), I said out loud...'so that's the way it should be played'. Frank gives us a banquet of delicious music, so familiar yet so refreshingly new. I am privileged to know Frank Glazer, and can asssure you this music is a measure of his vitality, superb interpretation, flawless technique and buoyant personality.
I give this CD as gifts...longer lasting than a bottle of wine and less expensive than flowers!
