Product Description The long awaited follow up to their 2006 self-titled debut, which has enjoyed worldwide sales in excess of half a million albums. Includes Bonus DVD with tutorials, exclusive interviews, & live concert footage ! 11:11 was recorded in Ixtapa, Mexico and produced by Rodrigo y Gabriela, with John Leckie co-producing one of the tracks. The album was mixed in Wales and London by Colin Richardson, best known for his work with Slipknot and Trivium. Comprising 11 new original compositions, 11:11 is the band s personal Gracias to 11 musicians, both past and present, who have inspired them along the way. Alex Skolnick of metal gods Testament guests on the album, as do widely respected acoustic veterans Strunz & Farah. If their self-titled debut was a successful attempt at capturing the unbridled dynamic energy of their incendiary gigs (mostly recorded live in the studio, with very few overdubs); then the new album sees them developing their core sound into something more sophisticated, intricate and varied. At the heart of the sound is still the stunning interplay between Rodrigo s dazzling lead work and Gabriela s unique rhythm play; but the base soundscape is now subtly supplemented by percussion, occasional piano and a fresh arsenal of stringed instruments from around the world, including oud and sitar. And - whisper it quietly the introduction here and there of electric guitar.

Spectacular! November 25, 2009 S. Blair (Charlotte, NC) A spectacular album! I had no idea who they were but one listen to this album and you'll want to hear it over and over. You can see their previous metal influence in the songs even though this is far from metal. I bet Yngwie Malmsteen has this album on his ipod ;)
A maturing Rodrigo y Gabriela November 8, 2009 R. A. Pearson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This grows on you.Not as strident or innovative on first listenings but definitely improves.Quite a sophisticated and maturing CD for the pair, with the fullest backing they have ever had .Ron
Incredible November 3, 2009 R. Ketterl (Seattle, WA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Rodrigo y Gabriella have been huge in Europe for a while now, and I am super-jealous. You can hear their metal roots in the perfect rhythms played out on nylon and steel string acoustic guitars. Their use of effects and technique makes me sit in awe. I think Buster Voodoo made me pass out when I heard it the first time. This is one of those CDs that is completely worth buying if you like one song... you WILL like more. And its an awesome deal!!
Continuous Play October 31, 2009 Susan G. Good (Wilmington, DE) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this CD for my husband for his birthday. He had seen a You tube video of these artists and thought he would like their music. That was an understatement. The CD went into his car player the day after his birthday and he has been listening to the CD on continuous play ever since (approx 6 weeks). I'd say it's a hit!! It's very hard to find gifts that he really likes, so this CD must be somethng special.
Amazing talent--great value October 23, 2009 Dale Fisk (Council, ID United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I couldn't believe I got a great CD full of music plus a documentary DVD for less than many CDs cost. What a deal! The tunes on this CD are not typical instrumentals; they have the feel of rock and roll--full of energy and drive, pushed by Gabriela's amazing ability to pound out a complex rhythm and play chords at the same time. And Rodrigo is an an incredibly skilled guitarist, carrying the melodies--sometimes with unbelievable speed and precision.
