Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
Bon Jovi is back with another tremendous rock album "The Circle" which was produced by John Shanks, who also worked with Bon Jovi on Have A Nice Day and Lost Highway. The first single "We Weren't Born To Follow" is the fastest growing single in the band's HISTORY, and the fastest growing ever on the Hot AC chart. Also included is the groundbreaking band documentary When We Were Beautiful. Filmed while the band was on its unprecedented Lost Highway world tour, this is the first intimate look at this legendary group. Unlike the usual band documentary, When We Were Beautiful reveals the inner workings and unique personalities that have made Bon Jovi one of the most successful rock groups of all time.

5 out of 5 stars When we were beautiful documentary   November 28, 2009
Liva (Virginia, USA)
Great video documentary. Most interesting thing was JBJ's comment that he prefers not to write and perform the more artistic songs. This I interpret as the style of "Destination Anywhere" and some of the moodier lyrics on "These Days." Both of these albums are two of the very best he ever wrote, in my opinion. I would imagine that JBJ cannot go on forever belting out the rock anthems. Sooner or later he'll have to draw on his artistic, poetic side and I'll bet he'll be surprised what a great reception he'll get when he does!!! Maybe then he'll also get the critical recognition that has so far eluded him and the band. So, I for one am looking forward to more songs like those from "Destination Anywhere" and "These Days."

5 out of 5 stars And Once Again....   November 24, 2009

The boys from Jersey just keep the great stuff coming! What a good mix of music and the thoughts behind the songs that are on this cd....most music has a reason for the creation and Jon and the boys are no different. Some of the reveiws complain that it is not Bon Jovi style but yes it is and they keep creating a different angle to their style to keep the fans coming back for more. If all their new cd's sounded like all the others than what is the point of their creative talant...keep listening to the songs as always they grow on you! Next step---Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

2 out of 5 stars So overrated!   November 24, 2009

I really hate to do this to the boys from Jersey because I am such a long time fan and have always felt that they couldn't do anything wrong, but there is a first time for everything!

This is absolutely the worst album! I have always considered Jon and Richie two of the best songwriters. To me their songs spoke to my heart and had so much to say, but this CD is such a big letdown. None of these songs made sense to me. I don't want to hear songs about what is happening, I can get that from the news. I was expecting something romantic and heartfelt. Jon's voice was also not that great and it shows in these songs.

I still love Bon Jovi and will always be one of their biggest fans. I have all of their CDs, DVDs, etc. If they put it out, I went and bought it. Anytime they came to Houston I was right there, but this CD left me wanting more.

What a disappointment, but I am sure I will get over it! Sorry Jon, Richie, I still love you guys but the "Circle" no, not so much.

This is one of the best albums. Even though I've enjoyed all of their music - just love listening to this one. Great Songs, Great Music! The Boys for Jersey Still Rock!

Bon Jovi was tolerable in the 80's now he's just radio trash. This album is terrible.
