Even ground that appears to be dry holds moisture that will quickly soak through ordinary blankets (and your clothes). Don't let that damp, clammy feeling ruin the fun - just remember to pack the waterproof picnic blanket! 'Built-in' pouch system means it's always neat and handy for the next event. 70" x 55" folds to 15" x 10" x 4"; 2 lbs. Machine wash and dry.

I was looking for a waterproof picnic blanket that was really large, to accommodate all of my kids. After extensive searching, this was the largest blanket that I found. It's completely waterproof and can be machine washed (which was not the case for many of the waterproof blankets that I saw). It was also one of the least expensive blankets I found. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's not especially snazzy or fashionable -- and it's not at all plush. It's basically just a thin flannel blanket with a waterproof backing. Serves my purposes, but if you're looking for something more luxurious, this is not the blanket for you.

After wasting money on picnic blankets from our local stores like Target, finally gave up and went on line looking. This was perfect for our outdoor summer concerts that we like to attend. We had 4 people on ours - 2 kids, 2 adults and it stays in place and is soft on one side, waterproof and stiff on other side giving it stability. My kids wrestle, roll and play and our other picnic blankets would be in a small mass in minutes - but this blanket stands up to lots of activity, seems durable. the carrying system works using velcro, although I'm not a velcro fan (except for use on kids shoes). Very pleased we got this, made our outings fun and comfortable this summer. Plan to use in our tent for floor surfacing for next camping trip.
