Product Description The patented FURminator Large deShedding Tool quickly and easily removes (it doesn't cut) the loose, dead undercoat hair that is the underlying source of shedding - a pet owners #1 complaint - and the allergies and cleanliness problems associated with it. The tools unique stainless steel edge grabs loose undercoat hair and removes it without damaging the pets topcoat. Reduces shedding up to 90%. Guaranteed to reduce shedding better than any brush, comb or rake . Works great on all shedding breeds of dogs and cats, (both long and short-haired). Brings out the pet's natural oils, leaving a shiny and healthy topcoat. Features a comfortable, ergonomic grip handle.

A must have for a german shepherd owner! November 27, 2009 Elizabeth Turner (Wake Forest, NC) I had used the furminator previously- borrowed from a friend and loved it. Unfortunately, Petsmart and everywhere else I found it, had it priced around $50. I was so excited to find it so reasonably priced!! Purchased from "Stoneledge of Cornwall" for just under $10. Thank you soooo much!
A Kennel Attendent... November 25, 2009 Sarah (Virginia, USA) I've been working in a dog boarding/grooming kennel for almost five years now, and I must say that the Furminator is probably the best deshedding tool on the market. It works well on all coat types, even long-haired dogs, but it's ideal for dogs with short to medium length coats with downy undercoats; German Shepherds, Corgis, Labrador Retrievers, etc. I've also used it on a Spitz to great effect when combined with a deeper-reaching undercoat rake.
It may not work perfectly on thicker areas of long-haired breeds, such as the haunches or neck/shoulder areas of Golden Retrievers, for instance, but it will help loosen surface hair even in those areas.
(I also commend Amazon for the exceptional discount - the large model sells for almost sixty dollars in pet-retail.)
furminator med. yellow November 22, 2009 D. Stack (Alabama) Great Product. Must be careful not to use too much pressure or you will hurt your dog. Needs to be done outside where the fur can fly. Would buy again.
not happy November 21, 2009 Phyllis Sanchez (Queens, NY) I think this tool to deshed cats hurts them. I am sorry I bought it.
Works OK, but make sure the size you order matches your dog November 20, 2009 M. Curtis My dog is the sheddingest canine ever. I heard that the Furminator was the best tool for the job, so went ahead and ordered the medium size.
My dog is about 30 lbs., dachshund mix (with what else? I dunno.), and usually walks around in a cloud of loose fur. The Furminator takes care of this, but requires too many strokes: Even though my dog is what I'd call medium, with the medium Furminator, it takes too long to get the job done. I should've got the large instead.
Bottom line: Yes, get the Furminator...but consider ordering the next size up for whatever kind of dog you have. Chihuahua owner? Get the medium. Great dane? I dunno what to tell you, except buy the largest size they've got, then plan on spending all afternoon furminating.
