Ok, warning guys. Be careful when someone lists a game as new in shrink wrap. I bought one and found out that it has been used, so the key is not valid.
If you are installing this on an older system, beware, it caused me great headache to get it installed. First, the install shield would cuase my sytem to reboot from the beginning, so I installed in safe mode. Well, then it would not find the disk in the drive (it's a noted problem at EA), so I uninstalled and tried cracking it. Well, I got to registration only to find out that the key is not valid.
So now I'm looking forward to black friday to see if a big box store will sell a good rig for a good deal. Until then, I must continue to play BF2. At least I'm not coming back here for a game.

It's a really fun game from what I can tell, but be warned: not only does EA install what's basically a kind of spyware on your computer upon installation, but if you get a used version of this game you can't even play singleplayer without buying another cd-key online! (without doing something illegal) It asks you to log on to their servers to pair the cd-key to your user account, so you basically have a useless digital brick upon purchase of a used version unless the cd-key was never used for some reason.
The gameplay itself (from what I've played of it) is pretty exhilarating and chaotic, and you should either get this or Battlefield 2--- not both (unless you're obsessed with battlefield games). It largely depends on how much you like or don't like titan mode. The graphics are dated by now, but still decent.
All in all, the game itself is fun, but EA ruined used purchases. What a shame.

I would like to tell you about whether this was a good game or not. But when I installed my copy of the game I got a message saying that my CD key was already linked to an account. I e-mailed the seller 3 days ago asking for his username and password, but I don't know if I'll get a response.
When you first login to Battlefield 2142 EA links your username with your CD key, so no one else will be able to use your game. I don't know why they did that. If you buy a USED copy of Battlefield 2142 you will not be able to play it.

The title says it all. I haven't played another game since I got this a couple of months ago. I even suspended my WoW account for now. As one of the earlier reviews said, this game is a masterpiece, especially once you learn to play as a member of a team (squad). Its superb action from the start of the round till the end and everything you do matters to the overall success of the team. And yes, you never run out of things to do. Everything from the gameplay, graphics, sound, music and controls are top notch. I won't go into the details of how its played and what its about since there's already enough information elsewhere. All I can say is that you are missing a lot if you don't get this game and at least try to get competent at it. It might take a some time before you become competitive against the many people you'll play against but its well worth the effort. FIVE STARS!
