The product arrived on time and as I expected for what I paid. I am really pleased.

5 out of 5 stars Great text for educators, full of practical advice and research   September 26, 2009
N. Luker (La Mirada, CA)
Slavin's 9th edition is updated with recent educational psychology research and interesting practical applications for the research in the classroom. This text provides a broad range of educational research and synthesizes it for specific understanding in conceptual areas such as motivation, direct instruction, cognitive development and so on. Slavin goes through great effort to also interconnect the information between chapters and illuminates how the information relates to the teaching/teacher standards.

1 out of 5 stars Defective printing   September 9, 2009
TA Dickerson (California)
I'm an education major, and the Slavin book is essential to my curriculum, however, I found an error in the printing that is crippling ... the first page of the index is missing. As a student, I am constantly going to the index to find everything from "Abilities" to "Advanced Organizers," and the only way to find them is by scavenging through the entire book. I did not find this error within the 30 day refund period, so I'm stuck with a $100 book ... so my advice is that if you order this book, be sure to look at the index immediately to see if the index is intact, and if not return it.

4 out of 5 stars Good information, fast delievery   August 30, 2009

I needed this book for an online class. It was delivered in a couple of days. The book was good, easy to read.

5 out of 5 stars A Well-Written Psychology book   August 7, 2009
ACCSCH (Olney, Maryland)
Educational psychology was the 4th psychology course I have taken. Slavin's text was the most interesting and well-written psychology texts that I have used to far. It makes the theories interesting to read and is also full of information that is very pertinent to the classroom. The book is very current for the modern classroom. We didn't finish the entire text in the summer course that I used it for, but I'm still planning on reading the entire book.
