Very Good Book, CD needs work November 13, 2009

I just used this book to take the A+ Exams 2009 Editions and while the book was very good at presenting the material, I think the Practical Exam practice tests on the CD was very lacking compared to the actual test. Although I performed very well on both tests, I feel like the Practical Exam practice exams were not as representative of the types of questions on the test.
On the other hand, the Essentials practice tests were a near-perfect match compared to the questions on the actual Exam. It feels like whomever created the practice Practical exams drew most of the questions from the Essentials Set rather than provide better example questions.
Other than that, I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to prepared for the A+ Certification.

I used this book in conjunction with pass4sure test questions. I read through this book twice and then studied the pass4sure questions for a week. This book is pretty accurate with what is on the exams. I passed the 601 exam with a 857 and the 602 exam with a 861. I feel that if you have sufficient experience in the field you can pass the exams with only this text. Now on to security+ !

This is the only book you need. I just took the A+ Essentials and the IT Tech exams and passed both with no worry. The questions on the test are the same type that are in this book. I will use this publisher for all my cert needs!!
