| Customer Reviews: Excellent July 10, 2008 siba kallab The chapters are very well done very acurate and the photos are very clear. This book is simply excellent and is a must in each nephrologist' library.
A gold standard in histologic diagnosis of kidney diseases June 28, 2005 J. E. Johnson (Nashville, TN USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Fogo and Kashgarian have created an excellent comprehensive atlas with a unique feature: The images and text are keyed to the major textbook of kidney diseases, Brener and Rector's The Kidney (7th ed).
The images are exceptional. The IF photos are especially well done. The images of H and E's and silver stains are of highest quality and demonstrate unit lesions with simplicity and clarity.
Chapters 2-6, Vascular, Tubulointerstitial, Transplant, Cystic Diseases, and Neoplasms, will be of interest to any practicing general surgical pathologist; the first chapter, Glomerular Diseases, will be of great use to renal pathology subspecialists and to residents and fellows.
This is truly an atlas, with text supplementing. The references are typically a handful of key works which are seminal for the lesion in question.
The format is very friendly. The artwork for the glomerulus schematics makes a traditionally difficult area very accessible to the novice.
If you diagnose kidney diseases of any sort, this book will be a valuable resource .
