Product Description
Don't sit in the dark when you can light up your world. The Coleman 5312-750 Retro Rechargeable Battery-powered Lantern is a full-size, hip solution to illuminate your camp site. The 11-watt fluorescent spiral U-tube provides a bright white light, yet remains cool to the touch. The Retro lantern is powered by a rechargeable battery that you can recharge from a 120-volt AC outlet or 12-volt DC port (12-volt adapter included) and one charge will run your family-size lantern up to nine hours. The reflector directs light upward and outward providing more efficient lighting. In addition, this lantern has its own built-in night light. This lantern also features an emergency-on circuit that activates during power outages. When it's time to replace the bulb, it's easy with the handy quick-release lever.

Amazon.com Product Description
Tired of camping lanterns that burn through batteries like nobody's business? Turn to the Coleman rechargeable lantern, which offers up to nine hours of runtime on a single charge. The family-size lantern features an 11-watt fluorescent spiral U-tube bulb that shines brightly regardless of its locale, with a reflector that directs the light upward and outward so more people can enjoy it. Should the bulb burn out, the lantern offers a quick-release lever for easy bulb replacement (an extra tube is included). Most importantly, when the lantern starts to lose power, you can easily recharge the battery via a 120-volt AC outlet or a vehicle's 12-volt DC power port (cords included). That means you can recharge the lantern before leaving on a trip, or you can recharge it at the campsite using your car's lighter port. Other details include an "emergency on" circuit that helps overcome power failures, a built-in nightlight, and a recyclable battery. The lantern--which also runs extremely cool to protect against fires--measures 6.75 by 14 by 8 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 7.78 pounds.

About Coleman
The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957--the birth of the modern cooler--and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.

5 out of 5 stars 3 thumbs up!!   November 16, 2009
running rachel (Buffalo, NY)
I have owned this identical lantern for about 5 years and can not say enough great things about it! I love the fact that it is rechargeable and the charge lasts for a very, very long time. I frequently go camping for long weekends (3 nights) - and the lantern charge has always lasted much longer than I need. The brightness of this lantern is much better than the fuel-burning lanterns, and no more pumping and running out of fuel! I also keep this charged at home and in the event of power outages, I have a light ready to go!!! I have purchased this lantern as gifts and everybody is amazed that they ever went camping without one! Obviously I strongly recommend it - Coleman makes such great products!

Keeps a charge for quite a while. Very useful where you have no electricity and don't want the high cost of replacing batteries.

5 out of 5 stars Great Camping lantern...a bit heavy though!   September 21, 2009
Norma L. Vazquez (BELLFLOWER, CA)
This lantern worked great for camping and held it's charge very well. We only charged it once and was able to use it for three nights without recharging it again. The only complaint I had was that it was a bit heavy and because of the florescent lighting, bugs were attracted to the light which was kind of annoying.

5 out of 5 stars One For Every Home   August 29, 2009

Every home should have one of these. Leave it plugged in and turned on. The bulb does not illuminate until the unit senses the electricity is off. Test it by unplugging the power cord. Presto! the light comes on. I gave one to my elderly parents and I have one too. It's hard to believe you can get an emergency lighting system that cheap. Test it right away when you get it because Amazon doesn't splurge on packing material when shipping (or someone in shipping just didn't care). It's a wonder it made it here rolling around in the box. But if it works, you're good to go.
