Good, More Power Alternative... November 23, 2009

A while back I purchased a spring loaded air soft pistol from an online store. At the time, my only experience with any gun that didn't shoot actual bullets went far enough back to their being just two choices, BBs or pellets. I was not that familiar with the term "air soft" at the time, and just figured it was the new age title for BB guns. I was wrong of course, for air soft pellets are nothing more than big fat BBs made of a light plastic that don't shoot anywhere near as straight or as far as copper BBs, nor pellets. I bought the pistol for both pinging fun, and to help scare away the pesky varmints that were constantly invading my bird feeders. The air soft pellets were a major disappointment in both respects. Being so light, you cannot have anything close to be called fun beyond 10 feet or so when target shooting, or pinging, and they were down right useless as a deterrent to the squirrels around me. Except to offer them a good laugh as the pellet when whizzing by them by a good foot or more off course. Regular air soft pellets are just so light they are easily intercepted by even the slightest breeze, or distance. Even the few times I managed to hit a squirrel dead on, more often than not they displayed little reaction to it.
Since my aim was to scare them away with a sting, rather than splatter them all over 'tarnation, I decided to try these very same aluminum BBs that I picked up locally here. I have to say that as to my own experience with them, they have been a perfect solution to both my lack of fun, and pesky varmint problem. The aluminum BBs shoot longer and straighter than the sissy ones due to their heavier weight. And, they provide a more convincing sting to the squirrels that were beforehand passing around jokes at my former attempts at being tough. Hitting a squirrel dead on at 30 or 40 feet or so sees them jump or fall off of whatever it is they are hanging on too, and then bolt off hell bent for leather into the nearest brush, or tree. My pistol is not only a lot more fun with these BBs, but also far more functional as a deterrent.
In recommending these BBs, I do have to mention that I agree with the other reviewer here that unlike plastic BBs, these babies will easily break windows and cause injury to a person, or various critters. Especially if the weapon you intend them for happens to be a good step up from my own spring loaded pistol. If you're using them with a rifle, or CO2 powered cartridge, be careful! Even being much heavier than plastic BBs, I do not penetrate the hide of a squirrel at a distance. But that will not be the case at all for something even a little bit more powerful. I very much recommend these BBs for whatever cause you may have to need such firepower. The price they are asking for them here on Amazon is very reasonable if you are unable to locate them locally...

Works Great, Dont shoot anything you dont want to damage.....they shoot straighter than the plastic ones, and they hit harder....be careful, otherwise have fun. Use mine with a co2 powers pistol, works just like a standard .177 cal bb, just larger.......
