Like the gun toted by the cowboy hero with whom it shares its name, the Maverick is a six shooter. Unlike the gun that other Maverick had, however, this weapon shoots only soft suction darts that can fly across a room and adhere to a window or other glass surface. The Maverick features a rotating barrel, which makes it easier to keep the firepower flying in the midst of heated battle and a futuristic look to better engender sci-fi fantasy play if you so choose. For a little extra power boost, the gun also has a pump mechanism. In our informal test, the darts flew surprisingly far and impressively straight. --Charlie Williams

Ah the Maverick...my first impression it's Incredible
The feeding barrel is polished to a mirror sheen, the slides been reinforced and the interlock with the frame is tightened for added precision, and the sight system is original too. It also sports a long-type trigger with non-slip grooves with a ring hammer, and the base of the trigger guard been filed down for a higher grip. Not only that but nearly every part of this gun has been expertly crafted and customized! -Snake
the pistol can easily hit a target 10-15 feet away,if you took a physics class and arc the gun correctly, it can hit something around 25 feet. it's a great sidearm that can be used to take out a single target or if you can cock the gun as fast as pulling the trigger you can easily launch all six bullet in rapid succession.
in Nerf tag or Humans vs Zombies this gun is almost mandatory to have and plus it's cheap! i've seen players in HvZ run around with two of them, i would highly suggest the SUCTION tip darts! than others for target practice on the wall or doors.

*Fires multiple types of bullets, (NOT STREAMLINE DARTS)
*Can put a string or a wire in the ring hammer to carry the gun on your pants or tactical vest
Cons:
*Easily jams IF MISHANDLED!!!! I can not stress this as much as I can,
If you attempt to "rapid fire" you must cock the gun, rest for ONE second then pull the trigger firmly. if you fail to do this the dart will either fail to leave the chamber or fly a miserable 1-2 feet, forcing you to shoot another projectile in the same fashion which by the time you shoot you would be dead by a zombie, an enemy dart, or repeat the same event in your haste to kill your target
*Like every plastic toy, it can be destroyed if abused. It's not made out of metal!
Purchasing this gun on Amazon and 32 darts = 30$ or so

Purchasing this gun in Toy's R Us you can get it for 20$ or so..
(not including State Tax!)
I was forced to purchase this via Amazon due to time restraints that limited my time in finding a local toy store, but I'm very content with this!

The situation: A potentially awkward Christmas weekend spent in the same house with exes, children, inlaws, and strangers.I bought these for everyone. They were a HUGE HUGE hit. We played with them all weekend. We made up targeting games, we played ambush, we shot to see how far the darts would go. Hours of fun. Any potential awkwardness forgotten. This is one of those toys that everyone secretly wants even if they're all grown up. No matter what the age - this is a great toy AND a pretty good icebreaker!

Great toy for beginners that like nerf guns. It is a very durable gun and long lasting. I had this for 4 months now and it still works great. Not very accurate though and fast, but it's a toy gun overall. But if you want to buy this gun, i would recommend buying some more darts. Six darts that come free with the gun won't last that long. I have lost 1 already.

this gun is handy in nerf wars because it was light,good amount of capacity,and okay range.But you have to use two hands for it but still good gun.

I think this toy has held up pretty well! I've had it for about 1 1/2 years and it still works! It's pretty straightforward, worth your money!, and you don't have to have batteries or electronics! It can hold up to 6 ammo which is enough for a good game, and you just reload. It doesn't break or fall apart since it seems to be pretty sturdy and a harder plastic than the bigger ones. The bigger, the more pieces, and it's a great toy! NOT AIR just spring, so everything stays in place. I took it apart, and easily put it back together unlike the recon which I had to throw away. Well I'd say IT'S WORTH YOUR MONEY!!!
