4 out of 5 stars Should have been longer   May 8, 2009
Kathleen Mandeville (Maine)
A must have for any Alice in Chains fan. Very good quality footage, would like too have seen this in color. The band has great stage presence, and really rock out. My only regret is I wish it would have been longer and that they would have performed some other of my favorites. Otherwise, this definately was worth the money considering it is very hard to find dvds or tapes to own of AIC. Would love to find more.

5 out of 5 stars Alice In Chains at their best   March 9, 2006

The only things wrong with this video is that it's too short with only 5 concert tracks plus 3 music videos that can also be found on the MusicBank DVD. It's also hard to find, I was unable to get it on Amazon but managed to get hold of a copy and transfer it to DVD. The band never sounded better or tighter than they did here with Layne Staley's vocals being superb on every track, especially 'LoveHateLove' and 'Bleed The Freak'
Highly recommended not just to AIC fans but to any fans of hard rock. This really is how it should be done.

WOW !!!! AMAZING !!! Highly, Highly, Highly, HIGHLY Recommended. This is a MUST for AiC fans. This concert played to a SOLD OUT MOORE THEATER IN A SNOW STORM---what does that tell you? lol. This concert is absolutely AMAZING--so strong and full of raw emotion...If anyone needs proof that AiC was one of the BEST bands EVER they need look no further than this performance. God, it makes me so sad to know that AiC is no more - never has a band been so revered or held up so high by their fans as AiC was and STILL IS. Layne's vocals shine bright in this performance and his status as one of the BEST if not THE best vocalists of all time is solidified once you see and hear him perform. This VHS is WORTH EVERY PENNY...There are NO bands that will EVER capture the raw emotion that AiC was capable of and there are NO vocalists that will EVER compare to Layne Staley...these facts are Clearly evident in this performance.

I bought this video in August of 1991. I have since lost this video by loaning it to someone. I have been looking for this video for the last four years. It is one of the best videos I have ever seen. I recommend you buy this video if you are a serious fan of Alice-in-Chains. Only then can you really enjoy the look and sound of this video.

5 out of 5 stars An early look at one of the era's finest bands   June 1, 2003

Live Facelift captures Alice in Chains at a moment in time as they began to reach their apex. Included on this home video is the band performing live (in black and white) doing "Man in the Box", "Sea of Sorrow", "Love, Hate, Love", "Real Thing", and "Bleed the Freak" to a packed audience. This is followed by three music videos ("We Die Young", "Man in the Box", and an early, alternate version of "Sea of Sorrow"). Layne Staley's voice booms and is simply beautiful to listen to here, and the band themselves are so tightly knit that this is an almost perfect early portrait of the band. On the downside however is the live performance is way too short, and the black and white presentation gives the video a grainy and dated look. However, this video is very affordable, and is a must have for any fan of the band. I would love to see this, along with the Nona Tapes video, released together on DVD someday.
