Editorial Reviews:

Despite an irritating, tacked-on voice-over narration that somebody must have thought was necessary to make sense of the story (it wasn't), Last of the Dogmen is actually a very moving and magical film. Tom Berenger plays a Montana bounty hunter who helps an anthropologist (Barbara Hershey) search for the descendants of a Cheyenne tribe who disappeared in the 1870s. What the two find in a remote mountain stretch is an entire community of Cheyenne who have kept themselves cut off from the modern world. A Dances with Wolves parallel emerges as the white outsiders gradually fit in, but Last of the Dogmen stands up just fine without comparison to any other films. As in Kevin Costner's Oscar-winning movie, however, there are ways in which this film captures a similar sense of yearning, mystery, and loss. --Tom Keogh

4 out of 5 stars good, but took a while.   October 20, 2009

The movie arrived in excellent condition and played flawlessly on our zone free dvd player. i just can't understand why it would take over 2 weeks to receive it? it's alright if you're not excited to see it but my Papa was... probably will not shop from this vendor (not Amazon, third party) again. However i will not hesitate to use Amazon in the future.

1 out of 5 stars Last of the Dogmen Region 2   October 3, 2009

Last of the Dogmen [Region 2]

When I purchased this DVD I had no idea what region 2 meant. I did not realize you could purchase a DVD that would not play on an American DVD player.

It should be made clear in the description that it is unusable in the United States so us Techo-illiterates wouldn't make the mistake.

I must say, the seller was very courteous, and very prompt in making a refund. I would definitely purchase from This seller again. More carefully of course.
