Product Description Scanpan's Classic line of cookware features pressure cast aluminum construction, a ceramic titanium used non-stick coating, and even and uniform heating. The pressure casting process guarantees the pan will never warp, and the all luminum construction provides a smooth, even and uniform heat. The real beauty of this cookware is the ceramic titanium fused non-stick coating. Its dishwasher safe, metal utenisl friendly, and sears like conventional metal cookware. When its time to clean-up, just flash boil some water in the hot pan, or throw in the dishwasher.

Best Non-stick I've used VERY tough for the 4 years I've owned them July 17, 2009 Gary C. Johansen (California) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Scanpan is hands down the best non-stick I've ever used.
4 years ago we cleaned out all our old pots and pans and bought a nice set of Calphalon stainless steel cookware. But there are just some times that non-stick is the way to go. So we bought a Calphalon One Infused Anodized frying pan to try out (they are expensive). Boy were we disappointed! We returned the it and I started looking for a replacement. I found the Scanpan line and liked what I read. Mostly I've been impressed about how tough the cooking surface is and how even it heats up.
These frying pans are pretty pricey, BUT in my opinion they are worth every penny
They are a new type of non-stick (no Teflon) and they work great. To start out you want to follow instructions to season the cookware. Next before I use the pans I LIGHTLY oil the surface. I do this by wadding up the end of a paper towel and I smear a little butter on the end of the paper towel. Then I just use the paper towel to spread the oil very thinly. With this small amount of oil the pans work great for all types of cooking.
Clean up is a snap. If you are going to use the pan again soon just wipe out the pan with your paper towel and return it to the stove.
BUT EVEN BETTER YET - PUT THEM IN THE DISHWASHER!!!
YES they are dishwasher safe. The cooking surface and exterior handle the harsh detergents with ease. The only problem I've had using the dishwasher is the very bottom is aluminum and may turn grey/black and needs to be cleaned occasionally.
When I stack the frying pans under the counter I keep a paper towel between them for protection.
In 4 years we have had some minor scratches that didn't go through the titanium surface, and haven't diminished the usefulness of the cookware.
I've been so happy with these I've been giving them as gifts to friends and my children. Everyone has gushed over how well they work.
Lifetime warranty from manufacturer.
Overrated and Not So Non-stick Pan August 20, 2008 Nuknuk (Springfield, VA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We got a large sauce pan, 1 small and 1 medium size fry pans.
I was very excited the first time we got our Scanpans. I read about the new technology surrounding this product that supposedly to be non-stick for many years. Now, we only have the big sauce pan left. We have to throw away the 2 frying pans.
To give it some credit, they lasted a couple of years before it started to peel off (actually not peeling off like a teflon. It starts to have some tiny holes on the surface which grows in size as you use it. Then finally when we see the metal base, we got worried that pieces of those non-stick surface gets to our food that we decided it's time to get rid of it). The non-stick properties starts to wear off before it lasted a year.
Pros:
-heavy and thick to distribute heat evenly
-Handles are oven resistant so you can actually use it to cook in the oven
-Well made, great construction. Durable.
Cons:
-Not as non-stick as teflon. And non-stick properties continue to deteriorates as you use it. Approximately a year.
-Not a good value. For the price, it should last much longer.
-Not for induction cooking.
An excellent pan! July 16, 2008 A. Schrotter 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this pan recently, and used it few times since. It's the first Scanpan product I own, and I am immensely pleased with it. It's heavy, strong and very very non-stick. I have fried many things and nothing gets stuck on it. You can remove the residue with your finger! The heat conductivity is very good, so the food gets cooked evenly on the whole surface.
I'm definitely going to buy some more Scanpan products!
best fry pan around December 31, 2007 L. Frazer (PA) Scan Pan makes the best fry pans I have ever used, and I've spent many years working in restaurants, in addition to cooking frequently at home. The pan bottom is COMPLETELY level (flat), which is surprisingly hard to come by. The heat distributes evenly, and always performs beautifully. The 11 inch pan is a good multi-purpose pan, though I recommend the 12" for larger meals, pancakes, etc. There are also lids available, I believe they may be made by pyrex. (nice fit and pretty durable.) The only drawback (for those used to using it), is that you should not use cooking sprays on the pan. However, it's easy enough to drizzle in some oil or butter. I highly recommend this pan, it's TOTALLY worth the price.
The Best Non-Stick Pan out there March 20, 2007 Gwen (Livermore, CA USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this scanpan after purchasing the smaller 9 in version. I hate most non-stick pans because no matter how much you pay, the non-stick coating wears off and you have to baby them. Not so with scanpan. These pans are remarkable. Non-stick MATERIAL, not a coating and you can use any utensil on them. Well worth the investment. I plan to slowly replace most of my pots and pans with scanpan.
