Serves our purpose very well. Perfect light for those dark areas in and outside the home. So happy with this unit I ordered another one of Mr Beams products. I highly recommend this product.
Perfect for stair well October 26, 2009

Works great, perfect for my stair well which had no electrical outlets. However, I needed two (one for upstairs and one down). Sensitivity works well too...you might try experimenting on location before screwing to wall. It uses 3 batteries. I was worried about how long the batteres would last, but installed in July and it's been going strong.

Our wood staircase was very difficult to navigate in the dark. We tried several products before trying this one and this works great, but sticky tape did not last. It fell off the first night. Now it just sits on the stair. It activates right when you start taking the first step, illuminating the remaining stairs (six). And because of the night light feature, you aren't stepping into a black abyss, there is enough light to guide to the first step. Since our stairs turn, we will have to purchase another one for the turn, but for the price and how well it works, worth it. Just wish there was a better way to install on the wall for easy removal when time to change batteries.

Our garage has a small stairwell - three steps down to reach the entry door. It is a dark area and often my husband and I had tripped down these stairs when we missed the last step.
This light solved all our problems. Easy mount - we just slapped it up against the drywall with the adhesive tape. It works just like we need it to, turning on just as we reach the steps. For the reviewer who mentioned there was a lag time for turn on, I agree that this is sometimes the case when it is not really dark....but then when it is not very dark, we can see the steps just fine.
Works better than I expected and seems appropriately priced. I procrastinated on installing this device when it arrived, thinking I would be disappointed. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised and wished I'd set it up sooner!
