Good outdoor decoration November 14, 2009

I love the idea of using solar energy. It is certainly a good decoration in the yard. I was thinking to get a solar light for my front entrance, but it was not bright enough. Perhaps, I need to purchase at least 3 of them as other reviews mentioned.

One must take into account that I erected my Moonray Balls in the fall/winter equinox, even though I live in Southern California. Clearly, we have plenty of sun here, but I'm finding these balls need DIRECT sunlight for many hours. My backyard, is a bit more shady in the winter even though I don't have many trees and I'm finding I really have to put the balls in a place where they'll get 6-8 hours of sun otherwise they drain very quickly.
All that said, I LOVE THESE! I'm looking forward to see how long they last (most solar lights I've learned last around a year at best) and I'm excited to see how well they do in the summertime.
The $ on these is well worth the intrigue and uniqueness my backyard has now.

It's a nice accent light at night, not annoyingly bright.
The subtle change of color is awesome.
The solar moonrays can be moved around & placed anywhere,
since they don't require electricity.
