Product Description Wireless-G is the upcoming 54Mbps wireless networking standard that's almost five times faster than the widely deployed Wireless-B (802.11b) products found in homes, businesses, and public wireless hotspots around the country - but since they share the same 2.4GHz radio band, Wireless-G devices can also interoperate with existing 11Mbps Wireless-B equipment.Since both standards are built in, you can protect your investment in existing 802.11b infrastructure, and migrate to the new screaming fast Wireless-G standard as your needs grow. The Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect Wireless-G or Wireless-B devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices. Connect four PCs directly, or daisy-chain out to more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. To protect your data and privacy, the Wireless-G Broadband Router can encrypt all wireless transmissions. The Router can serve as a DHCP Server, has NAT technology to protect against Internet intruders, supports VPN pass-through, and can be configured to filter internal users' access to the Internet. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility. With the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router at the center of your home or office network, you can share a high-speed Internet connection, files, printers, and multi-player games with the flexibility, speed, and security you need!

Linksys has yet to let me down November 27, 2009 C. Marnell This is my first Linkys wireless router, I have had a wireless access point and a couple different routers by Linksys as well. They have always been reliable and this one is no different. Took me minutes to get it set up to replace the router and wireless access point that I was replacing. In the 2 months since I set it up it has been up 100% of the time (as far as I can tell). I will keep buying Linksys until they give me a reason not to.
There's a reason for all the positive ratings November 24, 2009 C. Edwards (California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This router rocks. I replaced a Linksys WRT-110 with this router and was amazed by the difference in wireless networking quality. The WRT-110 was constantly dropping connection and slow; this router is constantly connected and fast.
We are using one desktop (XP), one laptop (Vista), one wireless printer and one VOIP adapter (SPA 2102). Easy setup and none of the arbitrary problems you can get with Windows.
Hands Down a Winner November 24, 2009 Lane M. Campbell I've been recommending these units for years and have overseen the installation of over two dozen of them in that time. These little guys may not have 802.11n but they are able to run Tomato and DD-WRT operating systems, this makes them a tried and true starter network device. With layer 7 quality of service configurable as an option any VoIP user can improve their network significantly by switching to one of these.
WRT54GL is an excellent product November 21, 2009 Systems Research Scientist (Silicon Valley, CA) Fulfillment of this Cisco product from Amazon was fast and hassle free, the unit was easy to configure, the admin GUI is logical and clear, and the option to reprogram the firmware with open source Linux opens up endless possibilities if I ever have the time to really play with this unit. I would highly recommend it for any serious IT hobbyist looking for a replacement wireless router. Also, the price point came in $10 lower than my local computer/electronics store, even after shipping was included.
Whats not to like November 21, 2009 W. C. Siebentritt (Las Vegas) Setup is easy and runs the computer on the other side of the house. Can't ask for more than that for this price.
