 Not good for the long haul November 25, 2009

I bought this product in June 2009. It worked really well until October 2009. All of a sudden the plug started heating up and now it won't charge anything! If I wanted to rent an adapter for a couple of months that what I would have done, but I wanted to buy it...now I have to buy another one...waste of time and money!

This was totally incompatible with my Dell Inspiron 1520. It inconsistently delivered power, so it flickered between attempted plug-in mode and battery mode every half second. Without the battery, it doesn't work at all. With the battery, it doesn't charge, and if you have different display dim settings for plug-in/battery, it will flicker between them every half second. This was a complete waste of money. Dell's authentic adapters are a rip-off in price, but at least they work. This adapter is a Dekcell brand, and does not work.

I bought this for my husband 2 months ago and today he went to move the middle box part of it and it made arcing sounds like there was a short in it. It got really hot. Now I am afraid that if he uses it again, our apartment will burn to the ground.

Within seconds of using for the first time, it caused the Dell 1525 laptop to smoke and pop. Technician said the adapter had wrong polarity. The refund does not cover the damages...not by a long shot. Everyone is pointing fingers so far. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY EVER!!! My daughters brand new graduation gift is ruined.

Bought this 3 months ago. It fit loosely to the connector in the laptop. Now my screen is flickering and I can hear crackling noises coming from the adapter.
