Customer Reviews:
1 out of 5 stars LOVE the computer - HATE SONY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!   August 20, 2009

I purchased this from Amazon to use in my boss's (a judge) office and after having it LESS THAN 2 MONTHS - I've received the blue screen of death. After spending almost an hour on the phone with Sony - they told me to take it to the Sony store in the Galleria here in Dallas. A young gentlemen by the name of Case helped me. He was VERY polite and very helpful but after working on the computer for over 2 hours said there was nothing he could do and it would have to be shipped back to Sony in California. He said he would have to order a box which would take 3 or 4 days to get and then after having it shipped we might not get it back for 14 to 20 days if not longer. I FIND THIS UNACCEPTABLE. THIS IS A COMPUTER FOR A LAW OFFICE!! How does Sony expect to sell their products to offices if they can't fix them in the store or have someone come to your office to repair the computer. DELL HAS THIS!! Unless something major happens with how Sony treats their customers and handles problems with the computers - I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT BUY ANOTHER SONY!!!

5 out of 5 stars Viable alternative to Imac!   May 22, 2009

I have the silver version of this computer. I also have a 24" Imac. The Imac is for my business, the Sony was for my 16 year old daughter. I was strictly PC until about a year and half ago, went with Apple and am sorry I didn't do it sooner!

Having said that, I ended up with the Sony at my office because my daughter didn't want to pay for half of the cost of the computer, as was our original agreement. Long story short, I took the Sony as well.

This computer is really very well thought out. First off, thank you for putting a frickin' card reader on the thing (are you listening Apple?!!). It's integration of this is beautiful! Secondly, Processing speed is phenomenal! Thankfully, I took off all of the trial software and it runs beautifully!

I've noticed a lot of controversy with the status of the Blu-Ray drive on this thing. I know only that it plays them and the resolution is stunning! I would not be at all worried about compatibility issues. It works incredibly well, enough said. Those of you that concerned about something so trivial, need to move out of your Mom's basement and get a life!

O.K., that was a little harsh, sorry. My point is that it works great! I LOVE my Imac, but the Sony has implemented some definite improvements for significantly less $. So, if your into PC's, this thing is a no-brainer!

3 out of 5 stars Question regarding resolutions?   April 5, 2009

Blu-Ray I believe means 1920 x 1080p. The resolution of the screen on this computer is stated to be 1680 x 1050. Seems like there is going to be a mismatch here unless you are outputing to an external 1080p TV/monitor. Doesn't make sense.

Crap. I guess I'll go with another model.
