Deluxe Value... November 6, 2009 Paul Mark Provencher (Morgantown, WV USA) I was stunned by the price of photo backpacks from some of the big names. I almost scanned past the Canon product here because Canon-brand stuff isn't always bargain-priced.
That's not the case here. I did a double-take when I saw the price. I could not believe it was so affordable. After dropping a serious chunk of change on the Canon 5D Mk II, I was ready for a bargain, and at the same time something that would hold the items I want to take shooting.
I was never fond of the classic "camera bag", rectangle with a strap type carry method. They burden a single shoulder, don't stay put, and from a style point of view, let's just say, it leaves a lot to be desired.
I use backpacks very often, so this really fits my mode of operation. The pack itself is highly configurable, has room for a few lenses, the camera, as well as the ancillary items you really should keep with - batteries, memory cards, body and lens caps, filters, and so on.
I reversed the compartment so the camera is at the bottom because with the battery grip, it was a bit tight at the top of the compartment. I too blacked out the conspicuous Canon logos (both the metal one and the smaller, two-sided cloth tab). I like the blacked out look and wonder why they don't just put black material on there to begin with, but I guess if you like Bling, you're good to go.
The long story short for me is I saved a couple hundred dollars and got myself a nice backpack that should serve my needs very well. It's just large enough to bring a good selection of stuff, but small enough to make me stop and think what I really need rather than overburden myself!
Canon Deluxe Photo Bag November 5, 2009 J. Gillis (Wisconsin) I am VERY satisfied with this product. Great storage options - moveable dividers. Great for the recreational photographer. I am able to fit my Canon DSLR, multiple lenses, video camera, digital camera, and all necessary chargers/cords that are associated with each piece of equipment, plus much more. Also has external straps, so taking a tripod along with you is no inconvenience. Not too mention, it was HALF the price of any retail store! Even has a hip belt, which makes hiking with this pack very comfortable. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!! Highly recommend!
Canon backpack 200EG November 5, 2009 NW hiker (Portland, OR) I purchased the 200EG backpack for my Canon DSLR and supplies. The pack works great with lots of padding and compartments. I might have preferred it to be slightly larger so it could hold other equipment for dayhikes. As it is I need to repack the camera in my larger pack for these kinds of trips. The pack is very well made. I'm happy with the purchase.
Good Value- Fair price-What's not to love November 5, 2009 Camerabug (Florida) A Few facts. I read these things all the time..and never know if the people writing are normal or not. I am just a guy who likes good value at a fair price. This is it. You can arrange the inside configuration in multiple ways. It is sturdy..semi comfortable for a loaded down pack. You can get L Lens, camera bodies, accessories (plenty of room). I sprayed this down with a silicone spray at Walmart. Got stuck in a blinding rain storm..even the frogs had life jackets! My equipment was bone dry. Buy it, it is a good deal for the money. Amazon free shipping rocks!
Nice Bag for the price (Paid $40) November 1, 2009 M. hill 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Good build quality for much less than some of the other camera bags that cost much more.
Pros:
-Rearrangeable / removable storage sections
-Multiple Storage areas
-Good padding
-Looks like a normal backpack (does not scream "Steal Me")
Cons
-I do not like the straps for holding a tri-pod. Does not seem secure.
-No good way to secure a mono-pod
-Have not found any use for the straps on the front
-Cannot "quickly" access camera
