Stimulates Baby's Vision and Auditory Skills
When babies are first born, they see in black and white. This is why the Play and Grow Peacock strikes a balance between bright, high contrast patterns that help stimulate baby's vision, and bold solid colors that give baby's eyes a place to rest. Sounds like crinkle, squeakers and jingles also help stimulate and develop baby's auditory skills. Finally, large, friendly eyes on the Play and Grow Peacock invite baby to focus and stare at a single object, which helps calm baby while supporting healthy eye development.

Child-Safe Design
Whether they're playing in the crib or preparing for a nap, your little one will enjoy hours of delight with the Play and Grow Peacock. Safe and easy for little hands to manipulate, it features a soft velour body that invites snuggling and playing. And the busy wings have different textures and interactive components--like the mirror, which allows for both independent and parent/baby peek-a-boo play--to keep baby engaged as he grows.

The Play and Grow Peacock comes with a limited 90 day warranty.

5 out of 5 stars Great toy   November 25, 2009
F. Carter (Akron, Ohio)
We have several Lamaze toys that have gone through two kids. We bought this for the third baby in our home. It is exceptionally vivid and has safe construction. The top hook looks obtrusive in the product photo, but it really isn't. In fact, it has seved it from hitting the ground several times. This has a rattle, a wing with crinkle noise inside, and a small sqeaky on it (not too loud).

2 out of 5 stars Not as easy to grab   November 23, 2009

We have both the Lamaze Jacques the Peacock and the Lamaze Freddie the Firefly. The baby instantly took to the firefly absolutely loving it from 3 months to 6 months. The peacock was much harder for him to hang on to and despite being similar in style was ignored. If I had a choice I would go for the firefly instead... Lamaze Freddie the Firefly

After some research into good baby toys, we purchased Jacques the Peacock for our 2-month-old. He loved just looking at Jacques. Now that he's older, he's enjoying playing with him too. The bright colors have kept him fascinated and entertained for hours. We highly recommend adding this toy to the toy chest.

5 out of 5 stars great little toy   November 7, 2009

I found myself short on the minimum for free shipping on some baby items on my (then) about-to-be-born son. This popped up as the #1 item for baby toys under $15. I could not believe there were so many positive reviews. Why would so many people be that excited by this little guy? It was colorful, and "Jacques Peacock" kind of rolls off the tongue, but c'mon.

Well, the simplest toys are often the best, and this is one of those. When Dimitri was first home, we turned it around so he could see the black and white patterns on the back. His eyes focused and it help his attention for at least 30 seconds every time (if you haven't had a newborn yet, just know this is impressive). Now that he's two months, he loves seeing it come out of the diaper bag. If I hold it up and let it "fly" he tracks it with his eyes and head. He loves the colors, the face and the crinkly noises. If I want a few minutes break, when I set it in reach he'll self-entertain -- talking, laughing, swatting at it. In fact, last night we propped it in his car seat and he played while we ate a peaceful meal. In a restaurant. So yeah, the reviews are that good for a reason.
