We added Miracle Blankets to our baby registry after hearing a friend rave about them. Thank heavens we did! In our childbirth classes, my husband and I were the most swaddling-impaired of all our classmates! For whatever reason, we just couldn't get it right. Luckily, these blankets make it easy enough for a monkey to swaddle a baby. My only criticism is that the colored versions of these blankets are not as soft or stretchy as the unbleached cotton ones. But they're still worthy of 5 stars. The yellow w/ aqua trim was my favorite! The colors are so much prettier in person!
Seattle recently had a heat wave, and one night we tried putting our newborn son in a light sleep sack instead of his Miracle Blanket. He woke nearly every 10-30 minutes due to startling himself with his arms and legs. After half a sleepless night, we wrapped him up tightly in one of these blankies and it was smooth sailing for the rest of the night.
Another thing I like about these blankets is that you can easily pull the leg pouch down to check a diaper in the middle of the night and it won't ruin the swaddle. Perfect for people who, like me, are obsessed with keeping their little one dry!
Our friends warned us that these blankets might actually be a little TOO good. Their daughter is now 6 months old and she still prefers to sleep with them - despite having outgrown them months ago. So they just wrap her up and leave her legs out.

Back in the 70s and 80s I discovered that swaddling my babies comforted them and helped them to settle down and sleep better. I developed the swaddling knack using the baby blankets I had on hand. More recently I've had the opportunity to care for my grandson, and he benefited from swaddling as well. Problem was, his mother had trouble wrapping him up because he was such a large child and was extremely strong; the blanket would loosen and come off--end of nap. Enter the Miracle Blanket! From the day it arrived, it was worth more than its weight in gold. We became proficient users and many times blessed its inventors as well as the person who recommended it. And we have been giving a Miracle Blanket to every expectant friend and family member ever since.

We borrowed a Miracle Blanket from a friend to try for a few nights and it was definitely a "miracle" so we ordered our own. This does what you can't do with a regular blanket. It was amazing! Our son was 6 weeks old when we started swaddling him out of desperation because he wasn't sleeping. He fought the swaddle when we put him in it an often cried, but the crying stopped within moments of being picked up in the swaddle. We could then put him in bed and he'd sleep well for hours. Swaddling him in other blankets scared me because he could break out of them and the blankets ended up near his face. This blanket helped him sleep and made me feel more comfortable with him having a blanket in bed.

This is a great product that was well worth the money. My daughter loves to be swaddled and is happy when I swaddle her each night before going to bed. She is two months old and sleeps for 9-10 hours a night without waking up. I attribute it to the Miracle Blanket. This blanket keeps your baby swaddled and helps them to have a good night sleep...and you too!! I would recommend it to any new or 2nd time parent.

The Miracle Blanket is the fifth swaddling blanket we have tried; it is the only one from which our daughter cannot escape. It has an extra step for securing the arms that takes a little practice, but the extra step is what keeps her nice and snug so it is worth it. She still fusses in it some nights, but there are times when she really does calm down at the sight of it (this is a claim they make on the package and I was initially quite skeptical). She sleeps so much better when she is swaddled and does not have her flailing arms to wake her, so overall we are pleased. I am taking away one star because of the outrageous price for a piece of jersey cotton. Since I cannot sew though, I will grudgingly pay it.
