When it was announced that Tom Cruise would play the vampire Lestat in this adaptation of Anne Rice's bestselling novel, even Rice chimed in with a highly publicized objection. The author wisely and justifiably recanted her negative opinion when she saw Cruise's excellent performance, which perceptively addresses the pain and chronic melancholy that plagues anyone cursed with immortal bloodlust. Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst are equally good at maintaining the dark and brooding tone of Rice's novel. And in this rare mainstream project for a major studio, director Neil Jordan compensates for a lumbering plot by honoring the literate, Romantic qualities of Rice's screenplay. Considered a disappointment while being embraced by Rice's loyal followers, the movie is too slow to be a satisfying thriller, but it is definitely one of the most lavish, intelligent horror films ever made. --Jeff Shannon

Interview With the Vampire is a great vampire film. It is based on the Anne Rice novel of the same title. It begins in modern day San Francisco when a reporter interviews a man who claims to be a vampire. Then the vampire begins to tell his story. Overall the film has a great plot I will not venture further into it for those who have not seen it. I would rate the film a 4.5/5 the picture quality 4/5 and audio a 4/5 overall this is a great purchase especially considering how great of a price it is at you can't go wrong.

revisting this highly campy , homoerotic , wickedly decadent , lusciously lensed film revealed its' status as the funniest film of 1994 . it's a lot of dated fun with many belly laughs in the miraculously theatrical performances of all involved . we all have DAVID GEFFEN to thank for championing this expertly directed (by NEIL JORDAN) film . the hilarious script is only amplified by copious use of subtitles provided (and needed) when it comes to ANTONIO BANDERAS (nice hair wig by the way) . a huge thank you to ANNE RICE for adapting her own book and keeping it NATIONAL LAMPOON worthy . reverence of special features is priceless .

A great Vampire story-Great time periods, cast/characters-perfect, visuals-awesome, this is also a movie you can watch more than once or twice. I would say 15 and older. Not gory, just really cool movie.
