Amazon.com A lot could've gone wrong in Red Dragon, but the movie exceeds expectations. Replacing the acclaimed Manhunter as an "official" entry in the Hannibal Lecter trilogy, this topnotch thriller--the second adaptation of Thomas Harris's first Lecter novel--returns to the fertile soil of The Silence of the Lambs, serving as both prequel and heir to the legacy of Lecter as portrayed, with mischievous menace, by the great Anthony Hopkins. Familiar faces and locations reappear (along with Lambs screenwriter Ted Tally) as Lecter coaches FBI profiler Will Graham (Edward Norton) in tracking the horrific "Tooth Fairy" killer (Ralph Fiennes), whose transformative killing spree is inspired by a William Blake painting. By dutifully serving Harris's potent material, Tally and director Brett Ratner craft a suspenseful film worthy of its predecessors, bringing Hopkins full circle as one of the cinema's all-time greatest villains. With overtones of Psycho and a superb supporting cast, Red Dragon succeeds against considerable odds. --Jeff Shannon

Red Dragon November 24, 2009 Tracey A. Bauman (Tracey A Bauman Spfld IL) I bought this for someone else who really wanted this he ia happy it came just when I wanted it too thanks
Clever and outstanding. November 16, 2009 The movie is mysterious more like silence of the lambs than Hannibal it stars Edward Norton(The incredible Hulk)and Anthony Hopkins(The wolfman) in the mystery of the serial killer "The Tooth Fairy" it has alot of action and gore the end is vissualy cool the main fail is that Hannibal never escapes well that is the novel's problem not the movie's but movies that are based on novels have Screenplays even though it is not a bad movie for that.If you have the oportunity to see it see it.
red dragon October 24, 2009 David Brentlinger (South Carolina) I wasted money on this movie. It is formatted in HD DVD and won't play on anything but an HD DVD player. The format is now obsolete so I guess I'll have to re-order in regular DVD format.
Good but not great October 14, 2009 tony (booneville, ms) Enjoyed the movie but not as good as the earlier sequels. Seller was very good. Item shipped within 2 days of ordering and arrived days before the estimated delivery date.
Wonderfully Creepy! May 17, 2009 G. E. Williams (California) When Red Dragon first came out on DVD, my wife raved about it, but I never got around to seeing it until this afternoon. Red Dragon is a tightly wound psycho-drama, and very tense crime suspense drama. This is really Anthony Hopkins best role, and Edward Norton is an actor who always surprises me. He seems so unassuming but always manages to pull off the believable hero. Here as a retired FBI profiler who bested Hannibal before only after he managed to get "killed" first, is using the mad doctor's "help" to catch another serial killer, if he can only protect himself and his family long enough to do it.
Red Dragon takes you right up to the timeline when Lecter meets Claire at the begging of The Silence of the Lambs (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) and is absolutely a good (if somewhat disturbing) watch. Not for Kids or Family viewing, this is a definite "R" movie.
But if you are in the mood for something "Dark" Red Dragon may be right up your metaphorical alley!
