One of two of the best November 22, 2009 Cynthia Creasy (Duanesburgh, New York United States) I was given a copy of the unit season one by my neighbors for my birthday. I do not watch TV. I immediately went out and purchased season 2 and 3. I have been waiting to see season 4. With the reviews I have read, I am very excited to see this season, as well. I love the Firefly series, also a gift. And 24. My friends introduce these to me and I am grateful. They are the best. Why do the best shows get cancelled? By the time I see them, they no longer exist. Enjoy what you have.
The Unit November 21, 2009 A. Goes That is the best show I have watched in past many years. Too bad they stop making more seasons...
Finale of The Unit November 16, 2009 K. Weisenburger (Windsor, VA USA) My son loves this show and was not happy when it was cancelled, so he was very happy to receive this dvd set for his birthday.
Suspenseful. Smart. Addictive. November 14, 2009 E. G. Huynh (Wheaton, MD) I've been following this series from the very beginning and I just have to say that it is a pity that this show was discontinued. Public television is flooded with senseless fantasy.
The characters are smart and well-developed. The endless missions keeps you on the edge of your seat, keeping you from ever turning off the TV and DVD player.
Being that this is based on reality, it may seem that life as an Army Ranger is full of action and suspense, but the opposite is true. They constantly train, train and train. But being that it is a show, rather than a reality show, life is fast forwarded to the good parts.
Overall, the show is suspenseful, smart and addictive.
The Units best season November 11, 2009 BlackBelt Although I titled this review "The Unit's best season", all the seasons are really good. I titled it that because I think that each of the actors found their niche in season 4. The writing matured, and the actors seemed comfortable in their character roles.
After purchasing The Unit box set Seasons 1-3, I couldn't wait for season 4 to come out.
Season 4 was worth the wait. The episodes are well written. Any fan of the show won't be disappointed.
I know many of the fans of the show, myself included, were disappointed when The Unit was cancelled. Although (last I heard) it is currently scheduled to run in reruns starting in the fall of 2010, the DVD's will have to suffice until then.
If you are new to watching 'The Unit' and don't want to buy all the seasons episodes, at least get Season 4. It has enough action, suspense and drama to keep you riveted and wanting more.
