Predating The Brady Bunch by almost a decade, Yours, Mine, and Ours is a screwball comedy about the ultimate blended family. When the widow Helen North (Lucille Ball) marries the widower Frank Beardsley (Henry Fonda), the two must find a place to house their 18--count 'em, 18!--kids (she had 8, he had 10). Based on a real-life couple, the film details the nuances of everyday life in a house overrun with children. From getting all the kids ready for school to sending off an older son to war, this well-written film is wholesome entertainment that doesn't condescend. Look for the very young Tracy Nelson as Germaine. --Jenny Brown

1 out of 5 stars WIDESCREEN WIDESCREEN WIDESCREEN   June 25, 2009
Azure1 (USA)
No-one wants to watch movies in FOOLSCREEN, well, Some Do and that's the reason why those of us who like WIDESCREEN are paying the price.

These Moron DVD companies need to start putting movies in their ORIGINAL ASPECT RATIOS, The days of Lying to people and giving them The FOOLSCREEN versions is Long gone. If i want FOOLSCREEN i'll watch TV.
As long as people keep buying GARBAGE, DVD companies will keep selling it.
People think that when they watch a WIDESCREEN movie the Top and Bottom of the of the picture are being Cut Off by the Black Lines, The Top and Bottom aren't what's missing, The Sides are. When will you people FIGURE that out. For those of you who haven't PLEASE go to....

Widescreen VS Letterbox VS Pan and Scan

This is a Video Short, from (Turner Classic Movies) Explained by 4 Legendary Directors about the difference between Wide and Fullscreen.
All 4 of these Directors, BTW, hate Fullscreen, because it ReDirects their Films.

Yours, Mine and Ours 1968, Aspect Ratio is 2.35:1, This means thet close to 40% of the movie is GONE, or what i like to call--Readers Digested.

As Edmond Gauthier wrote
QUOTE-It's been butchered down from Widescreen to Standard Screen for no reason whatsoever.QUOTE

As i've said before
I have 5 Conditions when buying DVD Movies and Box Sets

1. Movies MUST be WIDESCREEN, Complete and Uncut

2. TV Shows MUST be COMPLETE

3. TV Shows MUST be UNCUT, Just because it says COMPLETE doesn't mean it's UNCUT. See ALL 4 Seasons of ALF, Father of the Pride, Season 1 of Rosanne, ALL 5 Seasons of Two and a Half Men-One of the eason 1 episodes was only 18:30.

4. They MUST be WHOLE Seasons, Not Season 1 Vol 1..See Mister Ed, Lost in Space and Perry Mason

5. I DON'T do Best Ofs

I have yet to view this movie, but based on the quality of the stars, I am sure I will enjoy it.

The movie is excellent, however the quality of the DVD is very poor. Stops and skips. The quality is not what was advertized.

3 out of 5 stars Compared to today's movies, this is a good family movie   April 18, 2009
Belteshazzar (Seale, Alabama)
The majority of today's so-called family movies are filled with too much suggestive language, ideas and/or images. This is why I wanted a classic movie. I am ultra conservative so this film still contains a few things I am not pleased with. I suppose it was the beginning of the revolution in movies? The biggest disappointment was "Lucy's" reaction to her son reading playboy magazine. It was treated as if this is what young men do. I'm sure it was included in this movie to encourage other moms to feel the same. Well, I never will! I couldn't remember all the details from the first time I viewed the movie but if I had remembered that and the other few things I didn't care for in this movie, I would not have purchased it. On the other hand the movie does contain some wise words from the dad in the movie and the movie never showed or suggested this couple went to bed before the proposal. That was refreshing!!!

I received the product in the time specified. Haven't watched it, as I plan to give it as a gift to a friend who is only familiar with the Dennis Quaid version. Lucy was a little old for the part, as was Fonda, but it still remains one of my favorites. Again thanks for the prompt service.
