| • | Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz live slaphappily ever after as newlyweds honeymooning in The Long, Long Trailer, breezily directed by Vincente Minnelli. They quickly find that the interior of a moving trailer is ideal for tossing a Caesar salad - and everything else. That backing up their 40-foot, three-ton home is only a little more difficult than threading a needle wearing boxing gloves. And that tr |

Product Description Movie DVD
Amazon.com Besides making television history as the producers and stars of television's immensely popular I Love Lucy and The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, Lucille Ball and her husband, Desi Arnaz, starred in three quite agreeable feature films. The second of these, 1954's The Long, Long Trailer, in gorgeous Technicolor and directed by Vincente Minnelli, is a somewhat allegorical tale of a newly married couple who invest in a 40-foot trailer as their first home--and immediately regret it. Well, at least Arnaz's character does; he's the one who has anxiety attacks over operating electric brakes while steering up and down one-lane, mountain roads. Sight gags are plentiful: a scene in which Ball tries to make beef stew, a Caesar salad, and cake in a wobbling, moving trailer is classic Lucy. But there are some genuine dramatic sequences in this handsome movie, too, and the stars rise to the occasion. --Tom Keogh

The Long, Long Trailer. November 4, 2009 Mrs. Barbara J. Petersen (Australia) Dont think this Movie will ever date just seems with age to get better. Everything that has been thought and said about this Movie I 100% agree, it is the best one they ever did together. I just love the whole thing about this movie what more can I say, the best!!!
the Long Long trailer October 23, 2009 Amy R. Robbins (Michigan) This is a truly funny movie. It takes you back to a nicer time in the world and the chemistry and comedic timing between Lucy and Desi can not be denied. This movie is safe for kids to watch- adults, kids and in teens get to laugh and forget the hubbub of our time for over an hour. I would recommend this to anyone. If you Loved Lucy you will love this one. 5 BIG BRIGHT STARS! I have owned it for 1 month and have seen it 3 times. Love it!
Can't wait to see it again! October 21, 2009 Gypsy (Texas) This is the funniest movie I have ever seen in my entire life, and I haven't seen it again since it first came out! I laugh aloud when I think about it, and I am looking forward to the DVD. The gypsy in me acquired an RV a few years ago, and every time I get frustrated with it I think about Lucy in that trailer, and my frustration turns to laughter.
A Great Classic!!! October 21, 2009 David Corey Baker (California, USA) Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz play a great part in history when travel by trailer was in great demand in the 50's. Great scenes of Yosemite... Enjoy
There will NEVER be another like it October 19, 2009 Cynthia A. Heisey (Warren, Ohio) This has been one of my favorites since I saw it the first time. No one can hold a candle to Lucille Ball.........she and Desi give this movie an actual reality. Everything that happens be it good or bad has actually happened and the viewer will identify with it even if they have never traveled across country with a trailer. This is definitely a comedy essential!
