Michael Jackson: The One is a persuasive summary of the Gloved One's career highlights. Jackson appears only in old clips, but the case for his status as an innovative and dominant artist in the 1980s and early '90s is made by an impressive array of witnesses: Beyonce Knowles, Isaac Hayes, Dick Clark, Wyclef Jean, Missy Elliot, and others. Clark recalls meeting child-star Michael and realizing he had a natural drive to be in charge, underscored by Jackson's decision to push "Ben" (technically a ballad sung to a rat from the movie Ben) as a single. Quincy Jones talks about partnering with Jackson despite objections by the Epic record label; his tale of a superhuman push to mix Thriller in 24 hours is fascinating. Also discussed is Jackson's pivotal appearance on the Motown 25 TV special, and his penchant for musical and stylish re-invention on Bad and subsequent albums and tours. --Tom Keogh

5 out of 5 stars The Best Doc about MJ out there!   November 4, 2009
Zachary Sullivan (USA)
After reading several reviews complaining about it not having enough Mike, I was fed up. It's a godamn documentary, not a music video. Actually this has to be the best doc out there for mnay reasons.

1.) It has interviews with well KNOWN people.
2.) It plays MJ's music instead of some really annoying funky beat.
3.) Shows concert footage of Mike's songs and not pictures of his concert like other documentaries...*caugh caugh* A Remarkable Life
4.) The price. There are terrible Documentaries for like $14 and this is only half that much and twice as good.

To be honest, It it worth the money. And on the plus side, Mike's team put it together and not money hungery bastards!

5 out of 5 stars I loved this video!!!   October 20, 2009
moonsurface (Miami, FL)
This video is full of footage of MJ in concert and short films and has lots of celebrities interviews giving their thoughts on MJ. I really enjoyed my purchase and hope that they do an extended edition. The only complaint that I have is that is to short. This video is a nice add on for anyone that already has an existing library of Michael Jackson's work...

5 out of 5 stars Must Have for all MJ fans   September 12, 2009
Liza Morris (Winder, Georgia)
I was hesitant in buying this because of some of the reviews. But I received it today and watched it. AWESOME! I thought it was great to see other performers talk about MJ's influence and my favorite part was there was a good bit of footage I have never seen before. As a MJ fans for over 27 years, I am trying to get everything I can within money limits and this was a great price. I do wish it had've been longer and had actual interview with MJ, but still all of the footage was worth the DVD alone. It's about MICHAEL JACKSON!!! That is reason enough for me and he released this not someone trying to put out trash, so I highly recommend this :) I LOVE YOU MJ YOU ARE THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME, NO ONE CAN EVEN COME CLOSE!!

5 out of 5 stars Must have for any MJ fan   September 11, 2009
M. John (Atlanta, GA)
This DVD compilation is a wonderful collection of Michael's top performances. It includes interviews from Beyonce, Quincy Jones, Missy Elliot, Wycliff, Dick Clark, George Clinton, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige. Old clips from the Jackson 5 days up to 2004. This is more of a tribute DVD instead of having complete videos.

5 out of 5 stars WOW!!   September 4, 2009

I loved the way Michael moved and all the nice comments about him. A lot of people have the King to thank for their careers!!
