A good stethescope isn't rocket science but you know when you've got a cheap one. The wife is in nursing school and absolutely adores this.

This was purchased as a Christmas present for my Mother, who is a teacher. She uses this to show teach children that different things have different sounds, and everyone has a heartbeat. (She teaches 2-3 year olds). This is such an educational tool, and really has helped the children devolop. My kids loved it too. When she opened it at home, they were able to listen to the dogs heartbeat, and were so excited! Great product!
