nursing student (Tennessee)
Can't hear well. Got one from my school's stethoscope ceremony...all it's good for is display.

3 out of 5 stars Good Starter   May 12, 2009

This stethoscope is good as a "starter" for people just getting into health care (e.g. nursing students, etc.). There were a few downsides: It's a little heavy around the neck (as someone had mentioned earlier). It is difficult to hear heart and lung sounds in in people who are overweight or women with lots of breast tissue and it can get tight on the ears.

For the price and quality, it's decent. I was able to successfully use it throughout nursing school. I could sometimes hear adventitious heart and lung sounds with it (when it wasn't even noted by the nurse or documented in the patient's chart) and sometimes not, but that came with practice. I recommend it for temporary use, but would buy a stethoscope of better quality when officially practicing in the field.

I bought this stethoscope for myself & my several co-workers(RN) last year.
Quality of sound is not good to listen chest or lung sound. It might be OK to use to check blood pressure.

5 out of 5 stars Love It   February 15, 2009

I bought this stethoscope a while ago. As an EMT I used and abused it in the field for a while. I love this thing. I can hear great through it and it is very durable. Its a great deal for the price. I would definatly recommend this product

1 out of 5 stars Painful.   January 3, 2009

Bought it for my 8-yr old daughter to use as a toy...she likes listening to heartbeats, etc...anyway, the pressure on the pair I rec'd was just too much for her ears. I tried them too, and couldn't use them as intended. And, couldn't hear much in the short time they could stay in. Keep looking.
