Product Description Rayovac Hybrid rechargeable batteries come pre-charged and ready to use. This battery technology also takes NiMH rechargeables to a new level. While all batteries self-discharge over time, Rayovac Hybrid NiMH batteries hold their charge better than many traditional NiMH batteries, while not in use. This means that customers can now charge their batteries and know that when they need them, Hybrid batteries will be ready to go without having to go into the charger again. Lasting longer in high-drain devices than regular alkaline, and being able to recharge over and over again mean convenience and value to your customers!

Finally - a rechargeable that I actually like! November 27, 2009 Jeffrey E (Austin, TX) It's an on-going love/hate relationship. I really want to find a rechargeable battery that 1 - takes a charge and 2 - holds a charge. NiCads were not the answer because the capacity was too low, they drained over time and there was that annoying "memory" thing. It looked like NiMH's were a good fix, but I got ticked off that there was never any juice left when I went to use them. For a long time I used re-chargeable alkaline, but if they drained to zero, they were junk; also they stopped making them.
So here comes the Hybrid from Rayovac and I must say that I really like them. They take a charge and they hold it for a long time. Proof? - I have a high end flash for my DSLR. It uses 4 AA batteries. It takes a lot of juices to fire off a flash (FYI - it will illuminate the entire backyard at night and I have a big back yard!). One drawback of the big flash is the re-cycle time. When you shoot, you do not want to wait for the unit to re-charge for the next photo. The answer is to always use fresh, alkaline batteries, but this is expensive and a waste. I was pleased that these Hybrids recycle faster than brand new alkalines (I was surprised at this) AND they can sit in my flash for months and still be ready to go when I need them.
Finally - someone has got it right!
Great solution to AA battery problem November 19, 2009 David Forthoffer (San Jose, California USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
2100 mAh batteries that hold their charge! What more could we want.
I bought 6 double-4-packs of these batteries. I.e., 48 batteries. They all worked great except for one that didn't hold a charge. A 2 percent failure rate is not bad. I charge them with the Duracell CEF23DX2 4-hour recharger. (The faster the recharge, the shorter the battery life. The battery life on a 4-hour charge is almost the same as overnight recharging, and about twice the life as a 15-minute recharge.) The third leg of a battery solution is a battery tester. I use ZTS ZTMMBT9R MINI-MBT9R Mini '9R' Multi-Battery Tester, which tests both NiMH and Alkaline batteries. I bought these batteries for my Nikon SB-900 strobe lights. But they are so handy I am using them for other purposes, too, such as my electric toothbrush. I will be ordering more of these batteries.
excelent October 23, 2009 E. Araujo (BR) I am very happy with these bateries. I use them wiht Nikon SB900, recycling time is very short and it last notably longer than others 2700 mAh. Therefore it is cheaper than any Sony (original or not) we have here in Brasil.
I strongly recomend it.
Certainly I would buy then again.
Just as some of you said October 22, 2009 G. Jones 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
The batteries were NOT fully charged upon first use. I ordered 8 batteries and put in the first 2 from the package and guess what? Upon taking my first picture with my camera, the 'low battery' light is flashing! Why pay extra for charged batteries when they aren't! Do I blame Rayovac or Amazon, both!
Best Thing Since Sliced Bread October 15, 2009 T. Cogar These are the best rechargeable batteries I have ever purchased and are woefully underrated. They come fully charged in the package, hold their charge indefinitely, and seem to hold the max charge advertised. They can be charged with any standard Ni-Mh charger.
I put these batteries through hell in my DSLR and DSLR flash unit (use them as a universal back-up for my Li-Ion battery packs). The batteries hold up pretty well considering what they are. I keep them in my travel/camera bag at all times.
I paid $12.99/pack to buy 4 AA in a local specialty battery store so this is definitely a superior price. These things are a bargain and I will buy more until they're in every household device and kid's toy. Props to Rayovac on this one.
Unfortunately, I can not attest to the long-term durability (let's see how they charge/hold charges in 1-2 years) but I'm going to find out!
