Fits all my needs November 27, 2009 A. Toth (California, USA) I set this up w/ minimal effort. Only thing that was a pain was having to connect the printer to computer as they were across the room from each other. The print head goes back and forth a few times to warm up and shutdown. The clatter of it starting up and shutting down, leads me to think this will be the part that goes out first.
Have owned a HP all in one prior to this and had it for a long while, hope this one lasts equally or longer.
Worst HP Printer Ever! November 27, 2009 Norman E. Viray 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After giving this product a great review 3 days after initial use, a week after, the LCD is lighted but no more info or blank. Called HP and told me to press simultaneously the "#" key and "3" while plugging the device to a wall and not to the power strip. This process did not work so HP gave me this trouble number: 8032079546.
OfficeMax did a great customer service by sending me a replacement 2 days after. However, I am still waiting for OfficeMax to pick the defective item from them per their arrangement with me.
Update on the replacement printer that OfficeMax sent:
Upon receipt from Officemax, I tried to install the printer but it is having "alignment failed" problem and the step after that, I cannot install because the LCD again is lighted but no info or blank.
Called HP again, this time try pressing at the same time "#" and "6" while plugging it to the wall (not power strip). THIS DID NOT WORK!
So I told HP to send me without any rush fee a truly working 6500. They comply with my request which is good. I am still waiting after 2 days!
As you can see, 2 times same printer defective! WHAT ARE THE ODDS! This is the worst printer of all time!
Just what I needed! November 26, 2009 J. Mamola (round rock, tx) I do enjoy my wireless printer - it's easier for me than my old bulky printer... which is also an HP and about 10 years old! So they do last... I needed this one for my mini office and it works great!
Great but..... November 26, 2009 sarmatt (phila, pa) This is a great printer for the money. Only draw back is the way the printer goes on figdeting for about 20-30 seconds after it is done printing. I can't imagine what the hell it's doing but it is extremely annoying. If you are in close proximity to this printer when it is printing you may want to consider something else. Also, it takes a long time before it actually prints or copies a document because it has to fidget around first so the actual print speed is dramatically compromised.
not so thrilled November 21, 2009 Bonnie Wills this is the first time I have NOT been THRILLED with a new HP 'all in one'. It is not so easy to program.
I bought it because it was 'wireless'......don't know if that is my problem, but I would advise anyone to stay with what they know.
I does everything the last one did.....I only purchased this one because the previous one dropped dead.
Other than that the old one worked better for me.
