cannot get rectal temp with it August 1, 2009 ejh (Orlando, FL United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this thermometer beeps when it is done taking the temperature and works fine under the arm or orally. but, for some reason, when done rectally, it has never beeped to let me know the temp taking is complete - it just shuts itself off after 10-15 seconds. very frustrating as i'm trying to get newborn's temp to know if i need to take her in or not and i'm never assured that i'm getting an accurate reading. for oral or underarm it is fine.
Great Thermometer December 10, 2008 S. Sering (Midwest) I really like this thermometer. I my research before purchasing a thermometer before my baby was born. This thermometer works much better and quicker than the hospital thermometers I recieved.
Digital thermometer April 18, 2008 Shirley A. Challingsworth (PA United States) Our old glass and mercury thermometer finally died. Since I very seldom need a thermometer and rather than purchase a high-priced digital model, I decided to get this one. So far it seems to work just fine.

I'm a nurse, so I'm extra picky about health care products. This is my choice for my two girls. It's fast. It has a ridge to indicate how far in to insert the thermometer rectally. It's backlit so you can read it in a dimly lit room. And it's accurate.
Great, simply put. June 1, 2006 Caroline's Mom (Annapolis, MD) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I like that it folds up, takes ONLY 10 seconds to get an accurate temp and has been reliable for 1+ years. I use plastic covers over the end that I find at Walmart.
