This is a good and reliable blood pressure monitor at a very reasonable price. I would certainly purchase it again.

5 out of 5 stars An unexpected benefit   June 23, 2005

When my blood pressure started to rise, I started monitoring it with an Omron automatic inflation BP monitor. My results at home were significantly lower than at my doctor's office. I wondered if the product was flawed. I decided to try a manual inflation monitor. At first my results were much closer to those at my doctor's. Within a few days, however, they came down and now both machines are producing similar readings. I believe that I had a conditioned reaction to the sound of the manual inflation; it was one of the triggers for what seems to be "white coat hypertension." While my readings at my doctor's are still higher than at home, they are much closer to normal. This product has helped desensitize me to the test procedure.

Regarding the specifics of this product, it is easy to use. The readings are large and easy to see. No frills, but it does what it is designed to.

4 out of 5 stars A solid device, worth the price   May 15, 2005

I looked at a lot of different items in this category, and decided on this one. You pay a LOT for automatic inflation, and that's easy enough to do yourself.

Operation is very simple and gives quick results. Deflation of the cuff is managed by the unit (with a user-controlled quick deflate should you want to quit), and I've never thought is was uncomfortably tight. After a minute or so, you have a BP and pulse measurement. No hassle.

The memory feature is a little hard to understand, and doesn't have a time stamp. That aside, instructions are clear and measurements seem reliable.
