Product Description
Our purchase of Fair Trade Organic Spearmint leaf assures that farmers in developing countries receive a fair price for their crops, have safe working conditions and that the crops are grown in harmony with nature without the use of harmful agrochemicals. Organic Spearmint is Fair Trade Certified™ by Trans Fair USA. There are two sources for our organic fair trade spearmint in Egypt. One of our sources is the Sekem Initiative, a Biodynamic® and organic farm that was founded in 1977 northeast of Cairo. The Sekem Initiative has decided to invest its Fair Trade premium in scholarship funds and literacy programs for all ages, and Sekem producers have decided to invest in better housing, sanitation and healthcare facilities, and safe, reliable transportation. These sorts of basic infrastructure improvements are vital throughout Egypt, where access to daily necessities can be challenging in all sectors. Organic Spearmint is pleasantly aromatic and sweet. In contrast to peppermint, spearmint does not produce a cooling sensation. Children often find it to be more agreeable than peppermint.

5 out of 5 stars Worked for me!   November 18, 2009
R. Wetzel (Northern CA USA)
I was given this tea in the hospital (a regular hospital, not anything alternative) while recovering from a c-section with my first child. I could not recommend it highly enough. I wasn't sure what to think of drinking a "medicinal" tea, but I was converted by this one product. It really did make a difference, at least for me. Used it again after the birth of my second child when I encountered some milk production issues and was pleasantly surprised all over again. It really made me rethink my attitude on herbal remedies- not something I gave much thought to before. The taste isn't great to be honest, but after your first few cups you adjust and it tastes just fine. I paid far less for it than it is currently listed for here, so shop around, not just online but in your local community. My local big chain grocery store stocks this and other Traditional Medicinals tea.

5 out of 5 stars Great alternative to coffee!   November 15, 2009
Cat 7 (Columbus, Ohio United States)
I love having a cup of Dandelion Root Tea to start my day. I have fibroid and needed to give up my coffee habit. This tea is slightly bitter but with a teaspoon of honey, it is nice and smooth. It is relaxing to sip on and ease into your day.

I do a routine of this tea for 3 to 4 weeks and then switch over to Red Raspberry tea. This routine plus some other natural remedies have resulted in decreased complications from my fibroid.

I am an Amazon Prime member and this item was delivered in 1 day.

4 out of 5 stars For Labor/Pregnancy   November 14, 2009
S. Harris (Jacksonville, FL)
I read and read about midwives etc who recommended red raspberry leaf tea for strengthening and toning the uterus in preparation for labor. I finally bought this, and worked myself up to 3 strong cups of it a day after my 36th week. I'll just tell you what I know. This was my 2nd pregnancy. With my first I went almost to 42 weeks and then induced (and subsequently c-sectioned). This time, I spontaneously went into labor at week 38 (and had a VBAC). My labor was about 2 hours long. INTENSE (and kind of terrible). I don't know if this tea really did strengthen my uterus into being more efficient, or if it brought on labor. I definitely had a very different outcome this time around. And if nothing else, how can it harm? Hey, you're not only getting hydrated, but it's good for the psyche too. You feel like you're doing something to help your little one come out to your arms, safely. I'd do it again.

5 out of 5 stars Best Cranberry Tea   November 10, 2009
Karen Watson (Round Rock, Tx United States)
I have used this tea for years to help promote overall good health. I combine it with their Green Tea (1bag of each to 2 cups hot water). I don't use sugar with this combo but you might. I don't like the green tea taste alone but the Cranberry Tea makes the green tea much tastier plus, I feel, a better aide to my immune system. When my immune system is feeling low, this combo revives it quickly (although it may take a little longer to notice the effects when first starting to use it). I use it 2 - 3 times daily, initially, then once a day. I have tried this companies' Weightless Cranberry, which, I feel, is not as good as this product for my purposes. This Traditional Medicinals Organic Cran-Aid cranberry tea is promoted for urinary infections. Before I started combining it with green tea (which I did not discover until several years later), I used it for urinary tract infections and it cleared it up quickly. For urinary tract infections, I used to consume lots and lots of Cranberry Juice with little or no help. The help I received from this tea was a blessing! I am very anti-biotic resistant. I do not take antibiotics anymore for urinary infections. I am not a tea drinker and it was difficult for me, at first, to discipline myself to drink teas. I am very grateful for this tea.

I have used different tea products from Traditional Medicinals and, overall, have been very satisfied with their products.

Until I developed issues with anti-biotic resistance, I was not into the "natural health movement." Over the years, since then, I have tried many different health aides. Some of the naturals do not work at all. When you find the ones that do work, you stick with them. This is one company and their teas that I have used since the late 1970's. I am so glad to have found this on Amazon so that I do not have to drive for miles to get these teas any longer.

5 out of 5 stars Deborah   November 7, 2009
Deborah (North Carolina)
I love this tea, it has a nutty taste to it. I drink it with a bit of coffee creamer, no sugar or sweetener, and it's as good as coffee. I'm addicted. Amazon as a great price on this plus free shipping.
