Product Description
The Omron HEM Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with with Advanced Positioning Sensor Technology is the newest wrist blood pressure monitor from Omron the leading brand of heart monitors recommended by more pharmacists and doctors

Amazon.com Product Description
Wrist blood pressure monitors are portable, accurate and simple to use. They provide a convenient choice for those who want a second unit for away from home or who have trouble placing a cuff on their arm. The Omron HEM-650 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with APS (Advanced Positioning Sensor) uses Omron's patented IntelliSense technology, which inflates the wrist cuff to the ideal level with each use and offers fast, personalized, and automatic inflation for maximum comfort. No adjustments are required to select an inflation level--especially convenient for hypertensive users and for people with certain arrhythmia or heart disorders, because their blood pressure is more likely to fluctuate. And with the HEM-650's 90-memory recall with date and time stamp, as well as averaging capabilities for the last three readings, you can track your blood pressure and pulse progress as your work towards a healthier lifestyle. The HEM-650 also features a system that detects an irregular heartbeat, giving you an even better understanding of your heart's health. Plus, you'll have additional peace of mind knowing that the HEM-650 comes with a 5-year warranty.

Because the HEM-650 has a wrist cuff, it is particularly helpful if you have a larger than average sized arm. The monitor fits those with a wrist size of 5.25 to 8.5 inches, and it ensures easier and more comfortable use. Note, however, that a wrist monitor does require proper positioning of the device at the heart level. Correct cuff positioning is critical when monitoring blood pressure, fortunately, the HEM-650 features an advanced positioning sensor that automatically confirms that the cuff is level with the user's heart, thereby ensuring an accurate reading.

It is critical that when using a blood pressure monitor the cuff is the appropriate size and is properly applied. An ill-fitting cuff or an incorrectly-applied cuff can result in inaccurate readings. Consult your doctor or the included instructions for the proper application of the cuff.

A bit difficult to use at first but great after reading the directions again. Convenient to carry anywhere if you need to monitor often. Easy to read and accurate.

Received quickly
I have very small wrists and this band can be tightened enough
to work well. Very satisfied.

5 out of 5 stars OMRON Hem-650 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor   November 5, 2009
Thomas H. Dacheux (Harrisburg, PA)
Great product easy to use and accurate. Feature that indicates irregular heart beat is a plus because you can see at an instant if the heart is not beating as it should. Portability and ease of use with not needing to put a cuff around the arm makes it a snap to put on record the blood pressure and beats per min (can hold 90 records before it overwrites the oldest) uses AA batteries so no cords needed.

5 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF   October 29, 2009
mjbassets (USA)
I've been using Omron Wrist Blood Pressure Cuffs for years now. I like this one because they made it much smaller and sleeker. This is very handy to have around. I have to check my pressure a few times a day. This is very easy to operate. It also has an internal memory to keep I think the last 14 readings along with their dates and times. It's simple one hand operation, and it has an automated positioning system so it will work when your arm is at the correct level with your heart. You don't have to pump anything up. It's all automatic. You can also set it for right or left wrist use. Has a nice carrying case. You can also bring it to the doctor to show him or her your recent readings. You can just scroll through them. I got one for my parents, and they love it too.

3 out of 5 stars Readings are somewhat inconsistent   October 22, 2009
Sunshine Boy (California)
I recently bought this portable unit through Amazon. It arrived within 3 business days. I also have a Omron Automatic BP monitor, model HEM-712c. I have been comparing results between the two units and have noticed that the wrist BP monitor consistently read lower on the systolic and higher on the diastolic when compared to the HEM-712c results. The heart rate also runs higher. I always checked my blood pressure within 5 mins of my initial reading. I'm not sure if the difference is naturally due to location of the pressure point being measured. Would I recommend this unit? Probably not as a primary BP monitor. Collect more data so you can have a better idea how much bias the unit has when compared to more accurate monitors. You will have a better indicator of what your BP really is when using this unit.
