Cheap July 15, 2009 E. Akana (Santa Clara, CA United States) When I opened the box on this unit I know it was a really cheap item. We have gone through several peak flow meters and this is by far the worst.
It was covered by insurance, but it won't work properly the tab doesn't move accurately. My fear is that someone who is just learning about asthma will get a hold of this horrible item and they won't be able to accurately tell what is happening with their peak flow. I'm throwing it away and paying for a high quality one.
Consistent Readings December 23, 2008 Ronald Konieczynski (North Royalton, Ohio United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It seems too simple to work but the readings are remarkably consistent. On my "bad" days, the readings will be lower but will group together within a few points. On "good" days, the readings are higher but again in close agreement with one another, if several readings are taken close together. I have a lot of confidence in the device as a good, low cost home check for Peak air capacity of lungs.
Don't buy it! November 23, 2008 radmama (Clinton Twp, MI) When the meter arrived the little tab that moves was inside the meter. When I finally shook it out, I managed to re-seat it in the groove. It didn't even come close to providing an accurate reading. It was always 70 - 80 points lower than other machines. Save your money. I wish I would have read the review before I purchased it.
two down and we're through! October 26, 2008 Lori A. Bryce We have had two of these meters and both broke in the exact same fashion (little plastic measuring piece falls inside the unit) after less than two weeks. Waste of money and time at the pharmacy. Time to buy a USEFUL one.
Totally worthless. September 18, 2008 moonbeams (NYC USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This piece of crap lasted 2 weeks before the little tab broke off inside. I highly recommend buying another type of meter.
