We are using the Exergen temporal thermometers in our church children's ministries. Since we have over 700 children each Sunday, we need a thermometer that is quick, efficient, and safe to use in case of a flu pandemic. At this time, we use them (we purchased two)to check the temps of little ones we suspect of being ill. In the case of a pandemic, we would check the temp of each child entering our programming to help insure the safety of others. Because we can disinfect these thermometers quickly and don't have to buy extra parts (as in as ear thermometers), we are very pleased. They are accurate enough for our needs. These thermometers are a good value and delivery was timely.

I haven't yet had a problem with this product's performance, however it makes a beeping sound during use that I did not expect. I really wish I could turn the beep off! The beep is to let you know when the thermometer is sensing warmer temperatures or similar temps... basically to reassure you that it is functioning. Other than the beeping, I am happy with this product so far.

We've had hit and miss experience with the product. When you get it to take the temperature correctly it is a degree or so too low. The other times you have to take the temperature multiple times to get the reading. Maybe with more practice we will get better at taking the temperature.

I just recently purchased this thermometer. I have to admit I was extremely skeptical as to whether or not it would be accurate. Throughout the course of the day, I took several readings on myself, both across the forhead and in the earlobe region. I compared the numbers against my digital thermometer and found them to be very close if not in agreement most of the time. I have concluded that I will be using this as my preferred method for temperature readings in the future. I then repeated the same tests several times on each of my children with the same results. They loved it.
The one downside I can find so far is that the incessant beeping is at once distracting and annoying. It made me wonder if I was using it correctly. Also, my children had to be convinced that this was not some futuristic space blaster type toy and was in fact a tool.

This product was trialed in our hospital and many departments changed to this device. The ease of use, accuracy and lack of invasiveness to children is great. No more waking up a child for a nervous parent to take a temperature...just to be sure. Nice gift for a new parent.
