5 out of 5 stars Better than any other sore neck treatment!   November 30, 2009
Colin R. Meehan (Dallas, TX USA)
I have had chronic neck pain for over 3 years and within a few weeks of regular use have had dramatic results. To the degree that I would say my neck is 70-80% less sore and continues to improve.

In the last few years I have tried chiropractics, acupuncture, shiatsu and deep-tissue massages, neck stretches and exercises, ibuprofen and just about everything else I had heard from one person or another as a solution. All of these only gave me temporary relief.

A friend who had a serious neck injury finally recommended this brace and that he was getting good results with it. I have been wearing it now for about 30 minutes daily for 3 weeks and my neck has not felt this good in years.

Would highly recommend.

2 out of 5 stars Not for TMJ patients   November 25, 2009
Phil Tutle (Canada)
I have a pinched nerve and was recommended PT with traction. Since I am unable to get into PT now, I was recommended a device to relieve my symptoms. I looked at the various reviews and decided on this model. For patients with only neck pain, this device will perhaps help. The bladders are inflated by the small pumps. You pump them up and it stretches your neck. The manual says no more than 15 pumps per side. I am 5'8" and bought the S/M model. It wasn't too tight nor uncomfortable. So in that sense, this model is superior to other products. I did have one bladder seem to leak (allowing air to escape). You can stop that by placing a crink in the tube. The next day, the escaping air problem seemed to have stopped. The downside, and the reason why I am returning this product is due to my TMJ. I noticed that over the door models had many negative reviews from people who also suffer from TMJ. Since this model didn't have much feedback on that issue, I bought it. However, I would have to say that TMK patients should think hard about buying this type of product.

After a couple of weeks with this product, my neck felt a tad better but the TMJ pain behind in my ear (where join is) flared up. I stopped using the product immediately. It is unclear to me if I had the brace on too tight, or if I pumped it up too much (never above 15) or if my head position was incorrect. The manual didn't give enough clues to getting the most out of the device. It really needs to be expanded with information or warnings added to TMJ patients.

So if you have only neck issues, then this device might be for you. If you have any TMJ, perhaps try it out a few times before purchasing. Or buy from Amazon and keep the packing and other things so it can be returned.

1 out of 5 stars Definitely didn't work for me.   October 11, 2009

I couldn't even get this thing on! It was so awkward to try to do with the arthritis I have, and the way it is made. It was a total waste of money. It you have arthritis, pass on this, as you could very well have the same problem I did and waste your money as well. 10/11/09

2 out of 5 stars P&E   October 3, 2009

This product just ended up being a glorified cervical collar for me. I wear a size 7/8 with a slightly longer than average neck so that when inflated to the maximum
stretch, it just slid up the back of my head rather than truly provide vertical traction. It might be useful for some one without a small neck, I would relable the s/m size as just medium. It could also help stabilize the c-spine with a more "customized" fit than a regular foam c-collar. However, the retailer was very prompt and the lowest price since there was free shipping.

1 out of 5 stars Not what it is suppose to be   September 13, 2009

Good idea but all it does is get fatter around. Did not do any type of traction to the cervical area. More like an inflatable neck brace. Big waste of my money with a no return policy.
