Amazon.com Product Description
Whether you want to improve your posture, reduce back pain, or simply minimize your daily stress load, the Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 inversion therapy table makes a terrific choice. Inversion therapy works by placing your body in line with the downward force of gravity. In the process, inversion elongates the spine, increases the space between the vertebrae, and relieves the pressure on discs, ligaments, and nerve roots. And less pressure means less back pain, as well as fewer headaches and neck problems. Inversion is ideal for people with persistent spine and muscle aches, in addition to athletes who frequently push their bodies out of whack through repetitive muscle motions, such as runners, weightlifters, skiers, cyclists, and golfers. Studies suggest that inverting yourself a mere 25 degrees for even a few minutes per day can have tremendous positive effects.

Inversion therapy helps you improve your posture and reduce back pain.
Never before has an inversion table worked with your body the way an EP series inversion table does. The EP-950--Teeter's top-of-the-line EP inversion table--uses Teeter's patented Flex Technology design to move as you move. By working with your body instead of against it, the table accommodates a greater range of motion than other tables, promoting realignment of the spine and relaxing your muscles. The EP-950 then adds an optimal surface for decompression, with a smooth, light-friction texture that allows the body to slide and achieve a premium stretch. Plus, engineering tests have shown that Teeter inversion tables are the most precisely balanced tables on the market. This allows users to control the lockout more confidently in full inversion.

In addition to its EP-standard features, the EP-950 offers a number of upgrades over other Teeter EP tables. The table's ratchet ankle lock system, for instance, offers an easy-to-reach solution in addition to a triple-lock security feature. The table also includes EZ Stretch handles to help increase traction and enhance your stretching experience. To make your inversion more efficient, the table's EZ Angle tether strap lets you preset your rotation angles at 20, 40, or 60 degrees. This provides an easy guide to where the benefits of inversion begin and are fully realized. Finally, the table includes a new Ankle Comfort Dial that adjusts for smaller or larger feet, allowing you to find a comfortable and secure fit for your ankle clamps.

The table's Flex Technology move as you move to further relax your muscles.
Other details include a robust base with A-frame tubing and corner feet; auto-locking hinges, cam locks, and heat-treated steel parts; a de-rattler knob and specialized pivot bearings that ensure a lifetime of squeak- and rattle-free rotation; a scratch-resistant powder coating and a triple-plated chrome finish; and a plastic injection-molded construction with easy-to-clean surfaces. The table also comes with an Advanced Secrets to a Better Back instructional DVD that includes five 10-to-15-minute exercise and stretching classes. The DVD is hosted by Dr. Shawn, and includes such workouts as Good Morning (wakeup and warm up your spine); Strength & Stretch (build your core muscles); Posture Correction (look better and function better); Gym Ball (specialized core-building class), and Inversion Table (to receive the maximum benefits from your inversion table). The only inversion table on the market that can be modified with accessories, the EP-950 folds in just a few seconds to 28 by 66 by 16 inches (W x H x D) for easy storage.

Specifications:

  • Height capacity: 4 foot 8 inches to 6 foot 6 inches
  • Weight capacity: 300 pounds
  • Assembled dimensions: 48 by 61 by 27 inches (W x H x D)
  • Weight: 74 pounds

Product Description
EP-950 Inversion Table The Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 Inversion Table is designed similar to the F9000 model. The table rotates on a pivot system controlled by simple arm movements (rotation is accomplished by shifting the weight of the arms). The table smoothly and easily rotates to any comfortable angle, allowing for oscillation and intermittent traction. The adjustable roller hinges allow you to pre-select three levels to control the aggressiveness of rotation, and the tether strap allows you to pre-select your maximum angle of inversion. Unique and Patented Security Features: Auto-locking Hinges, cam locks, and heat-treated steel parts create a product that is more secure and more reliable. Stable Base (and added floor protection): Robust A-frame tubing with corner feet that increase the A-frame base by 20%% and reduce sliding on hard surfaces.Quick Storage: Folds in just a few seconds to 28" x 16" x 66" (71 x 41 x 168 cm). 5 out of 5 stars FINALLY... RELIEF!!!!!   November 22, 2009
V. Milito (Northern , NJ)
I have 3 herniated discs.. L3-L4, L4-L5, and S1, with L4 and L5 being the worst. The sciatic pain was unbearable which included numbness in my right foot and toes. Although I have only inverted about 30% the relief felt is unbelievable for just using it 2 days, can't wait to ramp it up to 60%.
I was able to put it together in about 1/2 hour... but you do need 2 people for some of the installation. Best money I have ever spent!! If your thinking of getting one... forget the cheap crap out there.... THE EP950 IS THE ONE TO GET!!. Trust me you won't be sorry!!

5 out of 5 stars Great for Backs and Necks!   November 9, 2009
P. C. Wood (San Jose, CA)
3 out of 3 found this review helpful

I had borrowed a F-8000 from a friend when I was diagnosed with "stenosis" of C4-C6 vertebrae in my neck. The neurosurgeon I consulted after my MRI suggested neck surgery, but after hearing the possible side effects, I decided to try other things. I used the F-8000 in the morning and evening, gradually working up to a 60° inversion angle, for 10 minutes/session (=2 minutes inverted and 30 seconds up for a total of 5 reps). Using it from April-August, I became symptom free after only two months, and continued to use it because it felt good after a long swim or working out with weights. When my generous friend needed his Teeter back, (his back issue had flared up) I started looking around for my own, but of course the F-8000 had been obsoleted. One of the things that was a little challenging on the F-8000 was reaching down after inverting to release the ankle clamp mechanism. The EP-550 had the same type of mechanism, and if you have a back issue, it takes a few moments of bending at the waist to feel comfortable enough to release your ankles. But on the EP-950, there is an easily reached lever that you just push down on to release the lock and then move the lever away from away from you to release you ankles. The extra 9" of reach on this lever really helps your lower back. The flex system on the EP series is nice since you can move easier from side to side to stretch the back if you want. The F-8000 had a stretched fabric backing (like the F-4000), but there was a bar that depending on your height would contact your lower back (my wife encountered this problem), But on the EP-950 and presumably the EP-550, the plastic back rest has the support bar recessed back, away from the contact surface, so it is very comfortable. The little pillow supplied with the EP-950 is helpful to reduce the friction, if you, like me, want to move your neck back and forth when partially inverted (20-60°). It is adjustable in position through the larger holes in the table. I have not had issues with ankle discomfort like some, perhaps because my weight is around 180 lbs. One thing that I do not like as much is the restraint strap that is used for restricting the inversion angle. On the F-8000, there were preset loops installed on the strap to allow 20, 40, and 60° inversion angles, but on the EP-950, there are only color coded markings on the strap, so you have to adjust a buckle to change the setting - less convenient and not as quick as the preset color coded loops on the F-8000. Its not a big deal now, since my wife is inverting at 40°, and I am not restricting my inversion and typically now invert between 60° and complete inversion (90°). The EP-950 is really solid and is very well constructed. I have been very impressed with the quality of the Teeter brand. The assembly was straight forward, but the diagrams on the assembly instructions sheets left a few doubts on some steps, so you may want to look at the DVD that comes with the inversion table to look at some of the steps in detail. It easily folds up for storage, but it is rather heavy, and requires two persons to comfortably move it any distance. The teeters are occasionally on sale, but mostly the prices are fairly constant across most of the internet sites. Amazon had a sale on the EP-950 that made it a little cheaper than other sites when I bought mine. Shipping was included in the price (as for most sites). I am very pleased, and will be using it for the foreseeable future because the positive and real benefits to my neck and back.

5 out of 5 stars Nice but doesnt get used as much as we thought it would   November 8, 2009

Very well built and easy to put together. It has been sitting in our work out room for a month now, and has been used no more than 10 times. If your buying one, consider how much time you actually have to hang upside down!

4 out of 5 stars My back hurts   October 24, 2009
Carl S. (New Orleans)
Since I am not very mechanically inclined plus my back hurts if I lift 5 pounds or more, I had to pay someone to assemble it for me. He did a great job.

Only drawback so far is that it occupies more space than my wife thought it would.

The device is easy to understand and is very sturdy. I started with 5 minutes at 45 degreees and have worked up to 10 minutes at 60 degrees. Any greater angle makes my entire face feel like it is being engorged with blood.

Does it work at 60 degrees? It certainly does for me, so far. While my pain does come back within an hour or two, I do get significant low back and leg pain relief for a while without narcotics.

I am happy so far.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome!   October 18, 2009
Brock George (Lewisville, TX United States)
My lower back has been bothering me for years, but would normally respond to Chiropractic care. This time, however, returning to the Chriropractor was not helping despite very frequent visits. I was in the most persistent pain I had ever been in and was starting to get up like an old man of 73 instead of 43. However, when I got this baby in the relief was nearly immediate. Just a few minutes of intermittent inversion (was told this was better than just hanging inverted for long periods at a time) daily has transformed me back to a 43 year old, with only occasional and manageable discomfort. I can't recommend this model enough.
