1 out of 5 stars The bananas make this NOT a bargain   November 15, 2009
Jonni McK (Chicago, IL USA)
Be warned: the bananas in this variety pack are DISGUSTING! The apples and pears taste good, like the fresh fruit tastes. The bananas however are quite nasty and do not taste anything like fresh bananas. It might be because of the citric acid in them, but it's got a funky smell and a tangy bite to it. Even the color is off. I bought this variety pack thinking I was getting a deal this way, but now that I'm throwing away all four jars of the banana it's ended up being quite expensive. I won't be buying the variety pack again. I'll buy jars of apple and pear again, but I'll be sticking with fresh bananas from here on.

4 out of 5 stars Great Baby Food and a Great Starter   October 18, 2009

Earth's Best Baby Food
My favorite brand of baby food by far. Both my son (who is now over 2 years old) and my daughter (now almost one) have used a wide variety of foods from Earth's Best. I am a huge proponent of feeding children primarily organic and/or locally grown foods to promote proper nutrition and growth. But I do not feel that all organic brands are equal. I've tried many varieties (including store brands and others only available through internet purchase) and found that Earth's Best is by far the best for your money.

1st Fruit Starter Kit
If you're like me trying to decide what flavor to give your baby the first time can be difficult. I had an idea because of going through this with my son, but my daughter (as it turns out) has completely different likes and dislikes. This variety comes with pears, bananas and apples. It's pretty basic and on a whole I think most babies like all of these, but you just never know. That's why I like it in this kit. You can try them out without having to hand pick and sort through a bunch at the store. It takes the guessing out of it. Yes, the price is a little high, but if you just need something to get you started it's great!

5 out of 5 stars Great   September 30, 2009

Love Earth's Best baby foods and this was great to start with a variety of foods. Only complaint is some of the fruits have Vit. C added as a perservative and makes a little on the tart side but I still prefer this over artificial preservatives and/or added sugars.
Ordering from Amazon.com is WAY cheaper per jar of food than our local stores. They were also great at quickly replacing some food that had been poorly packed and broke during shipment.
I still use this size jar of foods for traveling.

1 out of 5 stars Crazy Price!!!   March 16, 2009

I buy these for $.65 each at Target in Houston. That's $7.80 for a dozen. Too bad, the subscription would have been really convenient...
