 Not Perfect; Helps My Thumb, But Needs Better Adjustment Control November 4, 2009

1. My right thumb needs to be restricted so it does not move toward my palm. The Futuro does a pretty good job; but, the adjustment strap is not long enough to restrict the thumb as much as I would like.
2. It does allow me to do many things while I'm still wearing it. It does help keep the thumb out of the way.
3. If I tighten the wrist band as much as I need, the band slips down to my bare arm, and it looses all wrist control. It is also rather difficult to put it on without help. Be prepared to use your chin and your chest.
4. It gets dirty easily, and the stitches do unravel. I replace it every 6 months.
5. Four stars mean I'm much better off to use it than not. I have yet to find a thumb support that does as good a job.

My thumb was catching and overextending - think I stretched the ligament -- so I bought this brace to keep it in place. Works quite well to keep me from overextending my thumb. Helps support it while I'm using my hand typing, etc. In the kitchen I can wear it under rubber gloves so it doesn't get wet. Very comfortable.
I've been wearing it constantly for the last three weeks - it is starting to wear a bit. I'm ordering two more so I can wash this one and still wear one.

This product does exactly what it is supposed to do and has been a lifesaver for me. I have small hands and the fit was perfect. It stabilizes just the thumb and allows you to use the rest of your hand with no pain to the sore thumb joint. I certainly made the right choice for once.

i could not get through the day w/o these splints.. i have osteo arth in my thumb joints and it helps me alot. i couldn't do my stuff on the puter w/o these.
