Product Description When shopping online, you may have seen pictures or boxes that say "Not for Retail Sale" or "Mail Order Box". What does this mean and why are there different types of boxes for the same product? There are 4 types of boxes: USA Retail - standard box found in any store meant to be sold to consumers. Mail Order - special box for mail order pharmacies to sell to consumers Health Plan - special box meant for health insurance companies to sell to consumers Professional - special box meant for healthcare professionals to sell to consumers DME - special box meant for durable medical equipment suppliers to sell to consumers All of these boxes contain the EXACT same product, but carry different prices. The manufacturers make them look different and label them as "Not For Retail Sale" in an effort to scare consumers into buying the most expensive box. In our relentless mission to save you money, occasionally, we are able to source a Mail Order or Health Plan box that is cheaper than the regular retail box. When we do, we always pass this savings on to you. The manufacturers don't want us to sell cheaper boxes, but we feel differently. Why should others get discounted prices while healthcare costs continue to rise and consumers continue to pay higher prices? Though the picture of the product you see could be a standard retail box, the item you receive in the mail might say "Mail Order Box" or "Health Plan Box" or "Not For Retail Sale". . Please be assured you have received the EXACT same product as the retail box, with one important exception: you probably paid less for it. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask us at savemoney[AT]healthwarehouse.com.. . . . . . . Amazing November 24, 2009 D. Diesness I've been diabetic for well over ten years and the Freestyle Lite is by far the best meeter I've ever had. I've searched around quite a bit and this is the cheapest I've seen the testing strips anywhere, either in store or on the internet. I hope Amazon continues to stock this item well into the future. I for one will defiantly be a returning customer.
FreeStyle Lite Test Strips October 31, 2009 J. MCARTHUR (Apple Valley, CA USA) Product I received was exactly the same as I have been getting from my local Pharmacy, except much less expensive
The only one I've used--see no reason to change. October 22, 2009 A Reader (Newark, DE United States) My doctor told me I need to start checking my blood/glucose daily. If the numbers creep up, then I am officially diabetic and life gets alot harder. The doc gave me no guidance on particular brand of meter or test strip. I work with people who have type one diabetes and have been testing more than once a day for many years. I heard good things about this testing system, including glowing reports from people who had actually worked developing this meter, or some of the competition. The bad news was the cost. I was told that unless I bought 750 strips at once at Costco, I could expect to pay a dollar a strip.
It took about a week to get the technique down so I get a good reading the first time. After that it has not been a problem. Also, this source is much better price than a dollar a strip.
However, the entire home glucose test industry is rotten at the core. Accuracy of plus or minus 10 percent is the the standard. I work for one of the largest medical test equipment makers and that kind of result is just plain horrible. It could easily be much better with little increase in overall cost to the user, considering the huge size of the customer base.
USED WITH ALPHATRAK METER (DOG METER) October 18, 2009 Craig Michelson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been using these strips in my AlphaTrak meter (dog / cat meter). The true AlphaTrak strips are very expensive, more than twice as expensive as these Freestyle Lite strips. I've run a comparison of the two strips on the same drop of blood and got the same reading. I've run other tests 2 - 3 minutes apart, on different droplets, and the readings were within a few points. Of course, make your own decision as to using these strips for your dog.

These arrived on time and in perfect condition. I would definitely order from this company again
