| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Outstanding acoustic performance and exceptional versatility. Innovative design offers a patented tunable diaphragm on each side of the chestpiece for adult, pediatric, and small site auscultation. The Littmann Cardiology III stethoscope offers two tunable diaphragms which allow the user to conveniently alternate between low- and high-frequency sounds without turning over the chestpiece. The large side can be used for adult patients, while the small side is especially useful for pediatric or thin patients, around bandages, and for carotid assessment. The pediatric side of the chestpiece easily converts to a traditional bell by simply replacing the diaphragm with the non-chill bell sleeve included with each stethoscope.

Very happy November 23, 2009 Abigail Keisler Works great, comfortable, easy to use (flipping it over to use the bell is NOT hard, no matter what some people say). I'd recommend a color other than black, because everyone gets black and so it is easy for your stethoscope to go missing...
Broke in half on the first use October 27, 2009 Jeffrey L. Jensen (Madison, WI USA) Upon putting the Littmann Cardiology III on for the very-first-time, one of the arms broke in half. Littmann is sending me a replacement but I have to wonder about how reliable this brand really is. Buy something else.
One of the best acoustically, did break after 4 years of daily use. October 17, 2009 Robin M (CA, United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've owned the Cardiology III in different versions for many years (I think 1997 onward), I remember trying colleagues and finding the acoustic quality fantastic compared to the cheaper Littmann that I used - since then I have been hooked to this model. It does have a great quality build and feel above a lot of other models and brands. My recent one broke due to fatigue of the spring in the neck part of the unit (I use it numerous times a day for years), I did think that was odd though. 3M repaired it for me at the cost of return shipping to their service center since it was still under warrantee. I had lost the receipt but they used the serial number to confirm mine was still less that 5 years since manufacture. I was happy they fixed and serviced it.
Ultimately this is a great unit and assists me very much with patient care on a daily basis, the best reason to own a good stethoscope.
I do think they should have a longer warrantee (7 or 10 year on the main parts).
Great Stethoscope October 14, 2009 Fabricio Benevides (Brazil) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Littman is the best Stethoscope you can find. A bit price, but worth the money.
I've had a Classic II and changed to this one recently. This one seems to have a better build quality, though I didn't notice that many differences in the sound quality between them.
Much better than a Classic September 30, 2009 A. Ronk (Kalamazoo Michigan) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Up until recently, I have been using a Littman Classic stethoscope. Then I tried the Cardiology III, I am never going back!
